As many Preuss students know, April 23 is William Shakespeare’s birthday. He was born at Stratford-upon-Avon in England and lived from 1564 to 1615. He is often called the “Bard of Avon” and is considered one of the greatest writers of all time. The poem below is a song from Twelfth Night with its theme of “carpe diem” or seize the day; that is, living life to its fullest in each moment now. – Ms. Gabay O Mistress Mine Where are you Roaming? O Mistress mine where are you roaming? O stay and hear, your true love's coming, That can sing both high and low. Trip no further pretty sweeting. Journeys end in lovers' meeting, Every wise man's son doth know. What is love, 'tis not hereafter, Present mirth, hath present laughter: What's to come, is still unsure. In delay there lies no plenty, Then come kiss me sweet and twenty: Youth's a stuff will not endure. Reminder Items: Cross Country News: All high school students and rising 8th graders.
