2010 Testing Schedule for 3rd Grade: Tuesday June 8th

Dear Third Grade Students and Parents,
As we conclude our third grade year, it is important to evaluate student progress according
to curriculum standards. These tests will monitor progress and achievements and help prepare the
children for the future. In third grade, students will receive study guides and will have the
opportunity to prepare for these tests at home as well as review in school.
Science- Throughout the school year, students have been engaged in life science, earth science, and
physical science. However, this test will not encompass all aspects of our science curriculum.
Students will be assessed on the Solar System; the Planets, the Sun, Stars, and the Moon. Study
Guide to follow.
Social Studies- In third grade at SFA our comprehensive social studies curriculum engaged
students in the study of Massachusetts; past and present. Students will be required to recall
famous people from Massachusetts, famous events that occurred in Massachusetts, and will be
required to label a New England map. Study Guide to follow.
Religion – Students will be required to be very familiar with 3 important prayers; Hail Mary, Our

Religion Final Study Guide
For your Religion Final you need to know the following three prayers.
Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for our sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen
Prayer of St. Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
