We are delighted to offer 11 bookable picnic sites in some of the most popular and picturesque locations in Centennial Park.
The following information will help you choose the best picnic site for your requirements and budget.

Description

Paddington Gates
In the northern area of Centennial Park, close to Paddington Gates, Oxford Street and Paddington Playground, this site is easily accessible by public transport. It is great
for small picnics and children’s parties.

Fearnley Grounds
This site offers open green space surrounded by beautiful pines, wattles and Moreton Bay Figs. It’s close to Learners Cycleway children’s playground and Kensington
Ponds, making it ideal for family functions.

Frog Hollow
Just a short walk to the formal gardens, Frog Hollow features a wooden footbridge and beautiful annual flower beds. The site is positioned between Dickens Drive and
Parkes Drive, which provides convenient parking close by.

Willow Pond
Willow Pond is a beautiful and peaceful area tucked away in the centre of the Park. It overlooks an expansive pond which is home to more than 15 species of waterbirds
and there’s plenty of shade provided by magnificent fig trees.

Paperbark Grove
This picnic site is set amongst a splendid vista of Paperbark trees stretching for 250 metres. It’s a short walk to Paddington Gates, the kiosk, cafe and amenities at
Centennial Parklands Dining.

Lachlan Reserve
A large open space with plenty of shade provided by an enchanted forest of Paperbarks and She-Oaks. Lachlan Reserve is situated within walking distance to iconic Lily
Pond and Duck Pond, and opposite the Rose and Column Gardens.

Jervois
A grassy area in a quiet area of the Park, with plenty of shade from a variety of beautiful mature trees. It’s conveniently located adjacent to Jervois Avenue Gates and close
to the kiosk, cafe and amenities at Centennial Parklands Dining.

Ash Paddock
Conveniently located close to Randwick Gates, Ash Paddock is a large green open space bordered by established Pine trees. It is close to Kensington Ponds, Learners
Cycleway and the playground.

One More Shot Pond This popular area on the eastern side of Centennial Park makes a beautiful picnic area. Atmospheric Weeping Willow trees surround the pond edge.

Musgrave
This picnic site is tucked away at the very eastern end of Musgrave Avenue, providing ample privacy for that special occasion and only a short walk to Queens Park.

This picnic site is within the popular Learners Cycleway. The new Fearnley Ground’s’ Cafe and Cycle Hire are in close proximity. This is the only sheltered site available
in Centennial Park.

#To ensure the quality of Centennial Parklands picnic sites is maintained a bond is applicable to all bookings. If your site is left in good condition, i.e. clean and tidy and with no damage sustained, this bond will be refunded to
you within four weeks of your booking. Parklands Rangers will conduct a condition report after your picnic. Repair costs for any damage sustained as a direct result of your picnic will be deducted from your bond, as will costs
associated with waste disposal.

Schools are permitted to exceed the site capacity at Lachlan Reserve and Fearnley Grounds Shelter. Above 100 people the school site hire fee becomes $1 per person

A pop-up shade structure is defined as an open structure (i.e. with no walls) and must be weighted, not pegged. A maximum of three (3) structures is permitted for Tier 2 sites.

Children’s soccer parties are only permitted at Lachlan Reserve and Musgrave picnic sites and must be contained within the boundary of the picnic site.
