hosting the SIXTH annual GNCC Senior Womens
Championship Fri. Nov.13 – Sun.15, 2015. We look forward to
this REUNION with our Curl Friends.
Attached is the flyer with details of the event, rules of eligibility, and entry form. Participants must
admit to being age 50 by January 1, 2015. The team does NOT have to be all from the same club. If
you want to attend and need a team; email Sharon your CONTACT information and we’ll try to help.
Broomstones is a charming, friendly, four sheet dedicated curling facility located amongst wooded
beauty in rural Wayland, MA. The Club has some stabilizers, lots of Brownie brooms, and a few delivery sticks you are welcome to use while you are here. Please realize supply is limited.
Nearby airports are Logan (Boston), TF Green (Providence, RI), and Manchester NH. Jet Blue operates limited flights out of Worcester, MA which serves the bustling I495 corridor. The bus “Logan
Express” services Logan to Framingham, and stops directly across the highway from the Courtyard
by Marriott.

Rules and Eligibility Form for GNCC Senior Championships
1. Player Eligibility
a. 1. Senior Mens: All team members, including substitutes, shall be male and at least 55
years of age on January 1 of the year of the competition.
2. Senior Mixed: All team members, including substitutes, shall be at least 50 years of age
on January 1 of the year of the competition. All teams shall be comprised of two men
and two women. The order of play shall be alternating genders. All substitutes shall be
of the same gender as the player requiring the substitute.
3. Senior Womens: All team members, including substitutes, shall be female and at least 50
years of age on January 1 of the year of the competition.
b. Players must be prepared to provide proof of age to the site chair, if requested. Failure to
provide proof of age shall result in disqualification of that player.
c. All Players and Substitutes shall be GNCC members in good standing.*
d. Team members and substitutes are not required to be members of the same GNCC Club.
e. Substitutes may play any position but may not violate the alternating gender rule for mixed
play.
2. Entry Procedures
a. Teams shall be accepted for competition in the order that the entries are received.
b. Entries must include full bonspiel fee payment to be valid.
c. The defending championship team shall have a place in the competition providing:
1. At least three (3) members of the team return.
2. Valid entry is received prior to the deadline date.

3. Rules of Play
a. Play shall be in accordance with USCA and GNCC rules except as superseded below:
b. All games shall be eight (8) ends, including the finals. Extra ends shall be played toward
the main viewing area. Winners of finals are asked to remain at the club until their picture
has been taken.
c. Teams shall flip to determine hammer.
d. “Sticks” (extenders) are allowed, although switching delivery methods during a game is prohibited.
e. All deliveries shall proceed in a straight line from the hack. Measures shall be accomplished
by the Vice Skips.
f. All ties shall be played off with a full end. Teams that are not available to start on time
will be penalized. If the delay of the start of play is 5-15 minutes, then the non-offending
team receives one (1) point and will have last stone in the first end of actual play. One
end is considered completed. If the delay of the start of play is 16-30 minutes, then the
non-offending team receives one (1) additional point and will have last stone in the first
end of actual play. Two ends are considered completed. If play has not started after 30 minutes, then the non-offending team is declared winner by forfeit.
g. Local rules as may be imposed by the Host Club. In the interest of maintaining time schedules, when a team has run out of rocks, the game shall be terminated. Conceding when the
score is overly lopsided is also encouraged.
