POLICE EQUESTRIAN
LOANED FOR THIS
EVENT COMES TO TOWN CAMPAIGN
This September 17th and 18th the
Kingston Police will be hosting
the 2016 North American Police
Equestrian Championships
(NAPEC), held at Kingston
Penitentiary.
As part of the celebrations and
events occurring for the 175th
anniversary of the Kingston Police,
riders from across Canada and the
United States will be attending
Kingston for conference sessions and
to train and compete.
All funds raised during this historic
event will be given to the United Way
KFLA. Some of the events include:

arrived and are getting ready

Loaned Representatives Program
is a professional and personal
development opportunity where
employees from public and private
sector organizations are “loaned”
by their employers during the
campaign period to work at the
United Way. They provide support
to volunteers running workplace
campaigns, and help out with many
community events and initiatives. This

• Queen’s University committee
promoted the United Way
campaign at their staff BBQs
for their staff on Friday, August
19 and Friday, August 26 from
11:30am to 1:30pm. Launching
soon, this is KFLA’s largest
employee campaign. All the best,
Patty McHenry, Kellie Hart and
the rest of the Queen’s United
Way committee.
• Among the early bird campaigns
every year, UPS kicked off their
workplace campaign with an
agency speaker on Wednesday,
August 24. Way to go, ECC Blair!
• City of Kingston took part
in an agency custom tour on
Monday, August 22 – way to go,
ECCs Adam and Christina for
taking the opportunity to show
your committee some of the
work being done by our local
agencies!
• INVISTA employees had a family
BBQ event, and helped to spread
the word about their upcoming
campaign with a United Way
information booth! Way to go,
ECC Meredith!
• Union Gas has been busy
planning for their upcoming
employee campaign and
campaign events, and held
a canvasser training for their
committee. They will be running
their first ever golf tournament for
the United Way. Way to go, ECC
Adam!
• United Way KFLA’s internal
campaign has kicked off and
exceeded goal with employee
giving again this year. United
Way employee gifts were $12,766
with 100% participation. Thank
you to our internal campaign
committee!

Walk with Joe & Arrival Ceremony

Join Joe en route at Highway 15 & Highway 2 as he makes his trek into Kingston. Help raise

youth in our community. The walk will conclude at City Hall, with a special welcoming ceremony
