Department of Geography
Dr. Anu Rai is an Assistant Professor of Geography in School of Science of Adamas University.
She has Graduated from Shri Shikshayatan College, University Of Calcutta, 2009 and Post
Graduated with Gold Medal from Presidency College (Now Presidency University), University of
Calcutta in 2011 and has obtained her degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Science in Geography
under University of Kalyani in 2016. She has teaching experience in several colleges and
universities of West Bengal. She has delivered talks at several National and International
Seminars and has many international and national publications. She has also completed training
on Management Development Programme on Multivariate Data Analysis from Vinod Gupta School of
Management, IIT – Kharagpur and a Certificate Course on Geoweb Services and Geoportal
Applications from Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Department of Space, Government
of India. She is well accustomed with ArcGIS, MapInfo Professionals, TNTMips, Q – GIS, Google
Earth Geo Portals, NASA World Wind Geoportals, Bhuvan Geoportals, Openstreet Geoportals,
Statistical Software for Social Science (SPSS IBM 20.0), BV4.1, Program for Statistical Analysis
(PSPP), Census and Survey Processing System (Cs Pro 6.0.1), Gretl, Develve, Triplot, Simfit, SOFA
Statistics software packages. Her research interest includes the study of Geography of Decision
Making and Management focussing on the contemporary socio – economic and cultural issues,
spatial interactions of contemporary space, space re-construction and resource re-distribution
considering the view point of Geographer – A Spatial Scientist.
