Eating For Your Blood Type - A

There has been a lot of positive and negative discussion on the value of following a diet for a
specific blood type. When you are a layperson, as I am, you begin to wonder who to follow
with all this advice.
Here is the reason for encouraging someone to follow the “eat for your type diet” offered by
several different health professionals.
“… when you eat a food containing protein lectins that are incompatible with your blood
type antigen, the lectins target an organ or bodily system (kidneys, liver, brain, stomach,
etc.,), and begin to agglutinate (clump together) blood cells in that area”.
This is a valid concern because if and when this was to happen, it would interfere with a
person’s circulation. Eating a food that was causing this to happen would give rise to the
possibility of disease.
Since I’ve been on this path for almost twenty-five years and have seen more diets than I can
remember, come and go, here is my suggestion; first get your diet as simple as possible for at
least three weeks. By this I mean really simple; only a small amount of meat two or three
times a day with plenty of (steamed) non-starchy vegetables. It is important that you don’t let
yourself get hungry. It is also important you drink enough water to stay hydrated.
After following this diet for three weeks you’ll be ready to try any food you like on your
body and then you’ll learn how your body handles the food in question. We’re all the same,
yet we’re all different. This could not be truer than when it comes to the food we ask our
body to digest.
I’ve put this information on my web site because I feel it can give a person something to go
by in trying to decide where to start when it comes to making changes in ones life. I do not
endorse following a “blood type diet” exclusively.
