Prefixes and suffixes are added to base words to create new words with a meaning

Pe- prefix is similar to “-er” suffix in English.

Pe- prefix is either pe-, pem-, pen-, peng-, or peny- depending on what the
first letter of the base word is.
Sometimes the first letter of the base word needs to be dropped to make the word easier to say and
sound ‘nicer’ than if the letter was still there.
