What a fantastic Education week we’ve had!! Our
Grandparents afternoon was really well attended,
our students took great pride in sharing their
work and giving guided tours of their school. The
school has received a lot of positive feedback
from our visitors and lovely thank you notes from
other special visitors. I’m told the scones were
fantastic!!
Our Preps, 1’s & 2’s, teachers and parents had a
great day at the zoo. There were many tired little
bodies that trudged off the bus at the end of the
day. Highlights of the day included the viewing of
the giraffe calf and great excitement was had in
the butterfly house. You can never fail to be
amazed by an excursion to the zoo no matter
how many times you have been! The junior
school has learned many animal facts through
their unit, exploring the unusual features of
different species of animals.
Some of our students participated in the district
cross country at Point Leo last Thursday. Once
again our students were fantastic ambassadors
for our school and represented the Bittern
community brilliantly, well done to those
students who attended the event.
The Bittern Primary School choir had its second
grand performance last week at the Westernport
Gardens Retirement Village. The residents were
really appreciative of the efforts of our students
and it provided an opportunity for the students
and patrons to have some interesting
conversations. Both the venues that we have
performed at have expressed their thanks for
such an enjoyable afternoon, so much so that
Embracia in Rosebud have donated $400 to the
school. Thanks to Holly Jones for her efforts.
Walk to School Day was a fantastic success with
many families taking up the opportunity to
participate in a whole school event. The feedback
has been really positive and we plan to hold this
event on a more regular basis.
Thanks to those parents who donated their time
and effort to support the Bittern PS sausage sizzle
outside Woolworths on Saturday, the volunteers
are very much appreciated.
