Dr. Tracy Adams owns Western Oklahoma
Hearing. As an Audiologist she evaluates and
provides rehabilitation for hearing a balance
disorders. She earned her B.S. and M.S. from
Missouri State University. Her Au.D. is from Salus
University in Philadelphia.

Debbie Allen is an Animal Control Officer at the
Weatherford Police Department. She oversees
field operations and the Animal shelter. She as a
Bachelor’s Degree in US History and a Bachelor’s
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, both of which
she earned at San Diego State University.

Lacey Anderson is the current Miss SWOSU. In
this position, she is charged with being a role
model for women. She volunteers her time and
talents to inspire others to become confident and
successful individuals. Lacey is a junior at SWOSU.

Megan Ayala is a Student Worker in the SWOSU
Chemistry Department. In this position, she studies
under Dr. Tim Hubin and assists in the lab,
performing synthesis and other tasks. She holds a
B.S. in Chemistry from SWOSU.

Biographies
Dr. Christina Bourne is an Assistant Professor at
the Univeristy of Oklahoma. She gives direct
oversight of research in biochemistry and
structural biology. She also instructs
undergraduate classes in biochemistry and trains
all level of scientists in biochemical research. She
holds a B.S. form OU Norman, and a Ph.D from
OMRF and OUHSC in Oklahoma City. She is very
excited to be involved with Tech Trek!

Raygan Chain is an Assistant Professor at
SWOSU. She teaches Management, Finance, and
Entrepreneurship in the SWOSU School of
Business. She is also an attorney for Focus Oil
and Gas of Tuttle, OK. She holds a B.A. in

Biographies
Stephanie Chidester earned her BA in
Biochemistry and a BS in Mathematics from
SWOSU. She now works at Williams Companies as
an Associate Analyst of Measurement. She analyzes
data to ensure accurate measurement and ensures
exact volumes. She compares new data to historical
trends, and works to investigate abnormalities.
Because of her dual degree, she has the
opportunity to travel across the United States
leading training on the chemistry of natural gas to
field offices. She believes there would be no
philosophy, literature, music, or art without math
and science.

Dr. Sally Drinnon is a pharmacist at Western
Oklahoma Drug of Clinton. She is responsible for
checking and filling prescriptions and well as
providing council and advise to patients. She holds
a B.S. in Pharmacy from SWOSU. She is married to
Steve Drinnon and has two children.

Lisa Friesen is an Instructor in the SWOSU School
of Business & Technology. She hold a Bachelor’s of
Social Sciences Education and a Masters of
Administration from SWOSU. She has experience
working as a Multimedia Developer designing
online courses for secondary and elementary
schools covering math currculum with Oklahoma
Vision Project. This is Lisa’s third year teaching at
Tech Trek; she has been trained as a Master
Teacher for the Verizon App Inventor Core
Curriculum to help other Tech Trek camps learn
the curriculum.

Sherry Hart is the Senior Category Management
Advisor at Devon Energy. In this position, she
develops and executes market strategies in support
of all business units, with primary focus on drilling
services. Key activities include market analysis,
developing comprehensive category strategies,
executing sourcing events, developing supply
contracts, and managing supplier performance
through continuous improvement. Previously, she
has worked for Corken, Inc., SKF, Inc., Imation, and
3M. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical
Engineering from the University of Minnesota- Twin
Cities. She currently serves on the SWOSU
Engineering Technology Advisory Board, and the
Great Plains Family YMCA Board of Directors.

Dr. Vicki Hatton is the Department Chair for the
SWOSU Department of Kinesiology. She holds a
Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from SWOSU. She

Marla Holt holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Dental
Hygiene from The University of Oklahoma. She is
currently a Registered Dental Hygienist as well as a
clinical Dental hygiene Instructor. She teaches
Clinical Dental Hygiene at the Western Technology
Center. The job of a Registered Dental Hygienist is
to provide treatment to patients concerning their
dental needs and to educate the patient to have the
best oral health possible. Exposing radiographs,
applying fluoride, placing sealants and in the state
of Oklahoma administering local anesthetic when
necessary.

Kandi Huereca is the VM Measurement
Supervisor at Williams Company. In this position,
her daily functions involve management of a team
of analysts that capture and validate
comprehensive data streams coming in from over
10,000 remote terminal units placed on over
40,000 miles of intra/interstate pipeline. Project
management and process improvement are also
key daily functions that require logistical problemsolving and innovative thinking. Kandi holds a B.S.
in Mathematics from OU Lean Institute and is
currently pursuing an M.S. in Energy Management.
She is passionate about STEM and women’s place
in the field.

Rachel Hurt has completed her Bachelor’s in
Computer Science at SWOSU and is currently
pursuing a Masters. She is an Instructor for the
SWOSU School of Business & Technology. This is
Rachel’s third year teaching at Tech Trek; she has
been trained as a Master Teacher for the Verizon
App Inventor Core Curriculum to help other Tech
Trek camps learn the curriculum.

Melanie Scott earned her LPN from the KaddoKiawa Technology Center. She is the Care Plan
Coordinator at Corn Heritage Village. She is also a
wound nurse.

Amber Jones is a nurse practitioner at Variety
Care. In this position, she assesses, treats, and
cares for patients in a clinic setting. She holds an
AND from OSU-OKC, and BSN from SWOSU
Nursing, and an MSN from OU Nursing. She is also
a certified Family Nurse Practitioner form the
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Barbara Jones hold a Bachelor’s of Educaiton
from SWOSU. She currently works at BancFirst of
Weatherford as Sr. Vice President. She is also a
Customer Service Representative. She manages
the operation side fo the bank, handling Human
Recources, and the BancFirst call center. She
manages budgeting, donations, and oversees
security protocol. She can perform regualar teller
duties and also takes care of customer concerns.

Dr. Denise Landrum-Geyer (Dr. LG) is an
Associate Professor in the Language and
Literature Department at SWOSU. She also serves
as the Writing Center Coordinator. She graduated
from the University of Kentucky with a double B.A.
in English and French in 2001, followed by a
Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies and an
M.A. in English in 2005 from the same university.
She earned her Ph.D in Rhetoric and Composition
from Miami University in Ohio in 2010. In her
current position, she spends a lot of time working
with students and faculty across campus on their
writing concerns. In addition to teaching, she also
sponsors several campus organizations and serves
as the managing editor for the SWOSU Journal of
Undergraduate Research.

Dr. ChihChen Sophia Lee, Music Therapist-Board
Certified (MT-BC), is the Director of Music
Therapy at SWOSU. Part of her duties have
included teaching music therapy core courses,
applied piano lessons, supervising student music
therapists’ clinical experiences, as well as
providing music therapy services via the SWOSU
Music Therapy Clinic. Professionally active at the
local, regional, national, and international levels,
Dr. Lee has published, co-authored, and presented
numerous papers as well as the Continuing
Education for Music Therapists courses in peerreviewed professional journals, books and other
professional publications, and conferences in
music therapy and expressive arts therapy. A
graduate of University of Minnesota (Ph.D., M.A.)
and Ohio University (B.M.), Dr. Lee’s research interests evolve from Music Therapy
Distance Education, human psychophysiological reactions and processes to music
stimuli, international/multiculturalism in music therapy, and ethnomusicology.
Clinically , Dr. Lee has worked in long-term care, hospice care, early intervention,
special education, and with rural at risk youth.

Angela Marsee is the District Attorney for District 2 in
the State of Oklahoma. She represents the State in
criminal prosecutions and civil or county proceedings.
He holds a bachelor’s of Science form Oklahoma State

Katie Martin holds a Bachelor’s of Science in
Education Administration from SWOSU. She
currently teaches 7th and 8th grade math at Elk City
Middle School. She has previously served as a Tech
Trek Counselor in 2013 and 2014. She is a Core Math
Teacher this year.

Holly McKee earned her BBA in Management
Information Systems from OU, and her MS in
Health Information Management from the College
of St. Scholastica in Deluth, MN. She is currently
pursuing a Ph.D. in Information Systems with a
concentration in Learning Technology. She has
previously worked in software development for
Tinker Air Force Base. Currently, Holly is an
Instructor of Computer Science and
Entrepreneurship at SWOSU. She teaches web
development, quantittive methods, computer
business applications, and management
information systems. She teaches both
undergraduate and graduate level courses.

Shirsti Maharjan is the Assistant Project Manager
at Bar-S Foods. In this position, she is responsible for

Biographies
Natalie McCord is the director of the transmission
construction in the west area of the AEP
Transmission system, where she is responsible for
construction and service. AEP’s Transmission West
organization is involved with projects in 4 states.
Previously, she was the manager of the
distribution system in Columbus district for AEP
Ohio, where she was responsible for construction,
service, and customer design in the Columbus area.
She oversaw distribution outage management and
restoration and the implementation of normal and
emergency procedure plans. She has been in the
energy industry since 1982 with a background that
includes experience in distribution; construction,
network, dispatch, engineering, standards and
customer service. She holds a Bachelor of Science
in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Business
Administration from Oklahoma City University. McCord is a registered professional
engineer. McCord is a board member for The Tulsa Casa, United Way Women
Leadership Council Steering Committee and founding member of Tulsa Weld,
Women for Economic Leadership and Development, Organization. She and her
husband have two children and five grandchildren.

Ashley Morris is a nurse practitioner at the
Oklahoma Health and Wellness Center. In this
position, she works with patients providing care and
diagnoses treatment. She has earned an ASN from
Western Oklahoma State College, a BSN from
Oklahoma City University, and an MSN from the
University of Cincinnati.

Biographies
Dr. Lindsay Peña attended the University of
Oklahoma and graduated with bachelor degrees in
Chemistry and Spanish. She then attended the
University of Oklahoma, College of Medicine, and
graduated in 2006. She completed a general
surgery residency at the University of Oklahoma
Health Sciences Center in 2011. Dr. Peña is an
associate member of the American College of
Surgeons and the Society of American
Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. She
holds membership to the American Medical
Association, Oklahoma State Medical Association,
and the Oklahoma Chapter to the American
College of Surgeons, to which she is a councilor.
Currently she works in Elk City at the Great Plains
Regional Medical Center. She performs upper and
lower endoscopy, basic laparoscopic procedures, and advanced laparoscopic
procedures such as hernia repair and anti-reflux procedures. She offers surgical
treatment for both benign and malignant processes of the thyroid, breast, and
gastrointestinal tract.

Cesiley “Cece” Rideau holds a Bachelor of Science in
Athletic Training and a Master’s of Educaiton in Sports
Management. She is currently a Graduate Assistant
Athletic Trainer at SWOSU. In this position she works
with athletes and patients in many setting providing
preventative and emergency care as well as clinical
diagnosis, therpautic interventions and rehabilitations of
injuries and medical conditions.

Dorinda Risenhoover is the Education Coordinator for
NASA Oklahoma Space Grant Consortium. She is
responsible for empowering pre-service and in-service
educators to immerse their students in hands-on, STEMbased activities through teacher participation in NASA
workshops, NASA summer teacher institutes, and hands-on
breakout sessions at conferences both locally and on the
national/international level.

Jennifer Staggs attended SWOSU and then Western
Technology center, earning a Parametic Degree. She
was trained by the Office of the Chief Midcal Examiner
and later completed Medicolegal Death Investigations
cources through the Univeristy of Missouri. She is
national licensed with the American board of
Medicolegal Death Investigators and is a member of the
International Association of Coroners and Medical
Examiners. She currently servers as a Medicological
Death Inverstigator for Custer County. A few of her
many duties include responding to and investigating
death scenes, examining the body for injuries and other
evidence of the cause of death, and overseeing proper
removal of the body from the death scene, attending
the autopsy and assisting the pathologist in their
investigation, and gathering any and all follow up information needed to identify a
cause and manner of death.

Gretchen Taylor earned her degree from Clarkson
Univeristy and now works as a Chemical, Environmental,
Oil & Gas Technical Consultant. She loves to scuba dive.
This is her first year at Tech Trek to help with the
Engineering Core Course and the Robotics Workshop.

Biographies
Ashlie Nicole Walker is a Graduate Student
Researcher in the SWOSU Department of Chemistry.
She synthesizes, analyses, and characterizes organic
and inorganic material. Ashley spent ten weeks in
France during the summer of 2014 to do research in the
lab of Dr. Guy Royal at the University of Grenoble as part
of an International REU position. She has completed
her B.S. in Chemistry from SWOSU, and is heading to
graduate school to pursue a Ph.D.

Nena G. Wells is the District Manager for the Upper
Washita Conservation District. She works with
landowners to protect land and resources. She is also
charged with the maintenance of watershed dams and
teaching students and adults about conservation efforts.

Michelle Williams is the Hazard Analysis Critical
Control Point Coordinator and Safe Quality Food
Practitioner at Bar-S Foods. She is responsible for food
safety and quality. She must communicate frequently
with upper management at Bar-S and the local USDA
FSIS inspectors. She earned a B.S. in Biology from
SWOSU in 2002. She began working at Bar-S in 2002
as a QA Technician, then in 2004 moved to the
corporate laboratory as a microbiologist. In 2006 she
was promoted to HACCP Coordinator, with the SQF
Practitioner title being added in 2008. She has been
happily married for 15 year and has a 7-year-old
daughter and a 4-year-old son.
