11am: Natural History Museum
Arrive at the museum just in time to miss the queues
outside. Once inside, explore interactive exhibits
and check out the animatronic dinosaurs. There are
also opportunities from kids to touch and feel items
in the exhibits. Can’t wait until lunch to eat? Head
to the food hall to pick up a snack before your next
stop: the Science Museum. Cost: free
3pm: City Cruises River Tour
Catch the Circle or District line from South
Kensington Tube station directly to Westminster,
which is just a five-minute walk from the pick-up point
for your City Cruises tour. Jump on quickly to bag a
space in the roofed section, keeping you dry as you
travel down the Thames. Keep an eye out for famous
landmarks such as the Shard and the London Eye.

around the museum, and there are lifts – but these may
be limited to certain floors due to renovation works.

This museum is just a two-minute walk from the
Natural History Museum, so you won’t have to
brave the rain for long. There are plenty of things
for the kids to do here, including a play area with
design screens and a dancing area – as well
as exhibits on space, transport, inventors and
computer science. If you fancy a proper meal,
head to Deep Blue restaurant for good-quality,
healthy food in a futuristic setting. Cost: free

5pm: Catch train from London St Pancras
From your cruise drop-off point at Westminster Pier,
take the Circle line up to Kings Cross St Pancras
from Westminster Tube station nearby.
