MSYSAmayinitiallyendorseuptoeightteamsperagegroup.AllteamsseekingendorsementbyMSYSAfor
participationintheMidwestRegionalLeaguemustbeingoodstandingandmusthaveplayedineitherthe
MidwestRegionalLeague,Director’sAcademy,orMichiganStatePremierSoccerPrograminthemostcurrent
seasonofplay.ExceptionsmaybemadeasdeterminedbytheMSYSAExecutiveDirector.
TeamswillbegivenpointsbasedontheteamperformanceintheirmostrecentStateCup,JuniorStateCup,
and/orleaguecompetitions.*ThispointsystemisintendedtoassisttheMSYSAMRLSelectionCommittee.
TherearenotaminimumnumberofpointsneededtoguaranteeendorsementtotheMRL.
*Asthelandscapeinyouthsoccertransitionsfromschool-yearbasedregistrationtocalendarbirthyear
registration,itisimportanttonotethat2015-2016teamsarecompetingfor2016-2017MRLspotsintheage
grouptwoyearshigher.Forexample,currentU12teamsarecompetingforaU14spotin2016-2017,current
U13teamsarecompetingforaU15spot,andsoon.Anyrequestsforadditionalspotsmustbesubmittedin
writingandincludeanexplanationfortherequestandathoroughdescriptionofeachplayer’srecenthistoryin
StateCupandtheirMSYSAaffiliatedleague(orMRL).Allapplicationswillbereviewed,butthereareabsolutely
noguaranteesthatrequestsforadditionalspotswillbeaccommodated.
AfinaldecisionaboutwhichteamsareendorsedforparticipationistheresponsibilityofMSYSA,andMSYSAwill
decideallmattersnotprovidedforinthesepoliciesandprocedures.U14teamswhoarenotendorsedforthe
fallseasonmaystillbeconsideredforthefollowingspringseason,providedthattheyapplyagainbythe
appropriatedeadline.

asU14teamsprovidedthatapplicationandpaymentdeadlinesareadheredto.TeamsreachingtheSemifinalsof
theJuniorStateCup(FirstDivision)willberecommendedforthePremierQualifyingDivision(PDQ).Ifmorethan4
PDQslotsareallocatedtoMichigan,additionalteamsmayberecommendedatthediscretionoftheMSYSAState
OfficeandmaytakeintoaccountresultsfromtheJuniorStateCup(FirstDivision)andDA.
