rSAT Scoring Translation

rSAT Scoring
Translation
In AYP 15-16, CollegeSpring will launch programming for the redesigned SAT
(rSAT). The rSAT is scored on a different scale than the current SAT (cSAT). The
cSAT ranges from 600 – 2400 while the rSAT will range from 400 – 1600. This
means that students’ diagnostic test scores and score improvements will look
different than they do in current programming.
This report offers a guide for how cSAT scoring relates to the new rSAT scoring.

A 100 point cSAT improvement translates to 67 points on the rSAT.
•
CollegeSpring’s cSAT AYP average improvement is 170 points. This translates
to 113 points on the rSAT.
•
A 200 point cSAT improvement translates to 133 points on the rSAT.
This guide offers a purely mathematical translation of cSAT and rSAT scores. It does not take into account
differences in how students might perform on each test or differences in the curriculum for each test. However,
this can be used to begin to understand how scores and improvement may look on the rSAT.
