Students seemed to be confused more than anything with this course.
Test and assignment expectations were unclear, therefore, her marking
scheme was confusing as well. Test questions were worded vaguely.
For some students, it was hard to follow her lectures because she did not
answer students' questions clearly.

Students found the instructor enthusiastic, but were concerned about
the way this course was structured.
When it came to assignments and tests, students were not sure what
the expectations were, which then made it very hard to achieve a good
mark. Assignments and tests should have been graded more fairly. They
suggested using slides so that students could follow lectures more easily.

Chasin was extremely kind and approachable. His enthusiasm for the
course was clear and refreshing. The content was very interesting, however he moved too quickly through it sometimes. Clearer examples were
needed and more time spent explaining would be helpful. The textbook
was not very good and more optional problem sets would have helped.

The instructor was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Most students wanted lecture notes to help with assignments. Also, considering
the difficulty of the assignments (and the amount of time they took), it
would be better if they were bi-weekly. Finally, the knowledge the students
were expected to have from LIN 232 was more than they actually did
have.

Students felt the lectures seemed rushed at times, and assignment

course details and incorporated information from lectures and readings
equally.
