Inspiration 5K Run/Walk
Special Olympics Calvert County will host
its Twelfth Annual Inspiration 5K Run/Walk on
Saturday, May 16 at The Calverton School in
Huntingtown.
Registration begins at 8:15 am. The 5K shall begin at
9:00 am with the runners beginning first and the
walkers to follow.
For our runners, please note that this course is a full
5K and it is a cross country course. You can be a part
of a leisurely walk, or you can participate in a 5K
race, marked by our Special Olympics 5K team. We
are proud this year that we are joined by The
Calverton School, and thank the school for its
support and partnership for this fundraiser.
Special Olympics is a year-round sports program
that provides recreation and friendships to
intellectually disabled youths and adults. These
athletes benefit greatly when they participate in
Special Olympics. Calvert County Special Olympics
currently offers Aquatics, Basketball, Bocce,
Bowling, Cheerleading, Flag Football, Soccer,
Softball and Track & Field activities.
We need the help of the community to provide
continuing sports training and competition for these
worthwhile athletic endeavors. The athletes require
uniforms, equipment, medals, awards and
transportation to various tournaments and
activities. All this requires money.

I understand that my consent to these provisions is given in consideration of the
acceptance of this registration and for being permitted to participate in this event. I
am a volunteer participant in this event, and in good physical condition. In
consideration of the acceptance of my entry, I assume full and complete
responsibility for myself, my executors, administrators, and assignees of, and do
herby assume full and complete responsibility for any injury or accident which may
occur during my participation in this event or while on the premises of this event,
and I hereby release and hold harmless and covenant not to file suit against the
INSPIRATION 5K RUN/WALK OR THE CALVERTON SCHOOL, sponsors,
affiliates, subsidiaries, employees, race organizers, and all other persons or entities
associated with the event of all claims and damages, demands and actions
whatsoever in any manner arising out of my participation in said INSPIRATION 5K
RUN/WALK. I attest and verify that I have full knowledge of the risks involved in this
event. By entering the INSPIRATION 5K RUN/WALK I herby grant grant permission
for the free use of my name through pictures, in any broadcast, or any other
promotional media of this event.
We welcome all Inspiration Runners and
Walkers! All students who have raised at
least $15.00 in pledges, and all adults
who have at least $25.00 in pledges will
be given an Inspiration 5K Run/Walk Tshirt!
Please mark your T-Shirt size. Please keep
in mind that all sizes are adult sizes.
Water and snacks will be provided to all
participants.
