Overview
Digi-Read is the latest in remote reading technology, featuring
a rugged design and ease of use operation. Digi-Read is designed to operate
in an indoor or outdoor environment. The electronics and battery are fully
potted, making the unit moisture resistant. The display is also sealed to protect
the reading visibility. Digi-Read is activated (read) utilizing the touch-sensitive
pad next to the display.
Connectivity
Digi-Read is designed to interface to most popular pulse-type
or encoded water, gas, and electric meter units.

that is on the edge of the dial face.* Pull up on the outside edge of the cover

to remove it.
Each terminal has a letter that matches one of the leads from the 3 conductor wire,
(B) for Black, (G) for Green and (R) for Red.**
Connect each lead to the color matching terminal screw and snap the terminal screw cover back in place.

To Connect Wire at the DR3 Remote
The Black lead connects to the “Control” terminal screw.
The Red lead connects to the “Ch. B” terminal screw.
The Green lead connects to the “GND” terminal screw.
*lf you purchased a remote for an existing Neptune meter it must be equipped with either a ProRead or E-Coder
register that has the three terminal screws to wire to the remote. If you do not have the terminal screws,
that means you have a direct read register and you will need to purchase a replacement register to install on your meter.
**lf you did not purchase the wire with the remote and you plan on using your own wire you will need to make
sure it is three conductor and a minimum of 22 gauge. The color of your leads may not match the color scheme
in these instructions so you will need to take care in matching your color leads with the corresponding terminals
on the meter and at the remote.

To Activate the LCD Display to Get a Reading
There is a “D” to the left of the LCD display, touch your finger to the “D” and hold it there for a few seconds.
The LCD display will activate and show the reading, then after a few moments it will turn off to preserve battery life.
Resolution
The reading on the DR3 digital remote does not display the “fixed zeros” that are printed to the right of the
number wheels on the dials of many meters. To determine your true reading, you will need to add zeros to your
DR3 reading as necessary. The fixed zeros are like multipliers of 10. Identify how many zeros are printed on
your meter, there may be any number of them from none to three. You will need to include these every time you
take a reading from the DR3.
For example: If your meter dial face is showing 0003450 (bold zero is a fixed zero, all the other digits are moving
wheels) the total would be 3450. The reading on the DR3 remote will display 000345, not showing the fixed zero.
This is why it is important to include the fixed zeros every time you view the reading on the DR3 remote.
