Parent Information Meeting at the Rock Starz Gym
For new and returning parents:
5:30 pm Wednesday May 11th
For new and returning TINY parents:
6:00 pm Thursday May 12th
(Tiny’s Meeting and Evaluation same evening)
Below is a guide to help you determine what try-out you should attend. The day the
athlete attends is by their current TUMBLING level. Tumbling skills are a requirement
to attend each level tryout (except level 1, or ages 8 & under). Tumbling skills that are
minimally required are highlighted.
Tumbling skills dictate what night an athlete should attend. However, other factors
including stunts, jumps & experience will be a factor in team placement.
NOTE: Tumbling skills listed are to be performed without any spot or
assistance, and athletes must have the required skills.
*Tryout info sheet will be available for the girls to complete upon arrival. We are
looking for general information on their experience & skills (tumbling & stunts).
Tryout fee: $20 (Additional children in same family $10)
NOTE:
An athlete’s age is their USASF (United States All Star Federation) age for the season.
This refers to the age the child is on August 31st, 2016.
TRYOUT DATES AND TIMES
THURSDAY MAY 12th: TINY expo & TINY Level 1
NOTE: 6:00 pm Parent meeting is before evaluations.
No Tumbling Requirements



EXPO: Ages 3-4 as of August 31, 2016
Level 1: Ages 5-6 as of August 31, 2016
6:30-7:30 pm
Level 1 & 2: WEDNESDAY , MAY 11th
LEVEL 1:
 Tumbling is not required to attend this night of tryouts but skills for this level include: front
and back walkovers, forward and backward rolls, jumps to walkovers, cartwheels, roundoffs, handstands, handstand forward rolls, and back extension rolls.
 All skills must be without a spot or assistance!
 Specialty passes & skills will be evaluated such as (but not limited to):

o Handstand forward roll front walkover cartwheel back walkover
6:00 - 8:00 PM: Ages 6 – 18 / *Age as of August 31,2016
Level 2:
Tumbling skills REQUIRED to tryout for level 2:
 Front and back walkovers, standing back handspring, round-off multiple back handsprings,
straight jump to BHS
 All skills must be without a spot or assistance!
o Specialty passes & skills will be evaluated, such as (but not limited to):
 Front walkover round-off back handspring, back walkover BHS, step-out roundoff double BHS, standing back handspring step out cartwheel BHS
 6:00 - 8:00 PM: Ages 6 – 18 / *Age as of August 31,2016
Level 3: Thursday, MAY 12TH
Tumbling skills REQUIRED to attend this night of tryouts:



Round/off back handspring tuck or Round-off BHS step out through to tuck, standing back
handspring series (TWO OR MORE), front walkover R/O BHS tuck, jumps to multiple back
handspring, handspring toe touch multiple back handsprings
All skills must be without a spot or assistance!
o
Specialty passes & skills will be evaluated, such as (but not limited to):

Punch front tuck step step hurdle round-off back handspring tuck, aerial
through to round-off BHS tuck

BHS toe touch multiple BHS
7:00 – 9:00 PM: Ages 8 & over - *Age as of August 31, 2016
Level 4: Monday, MAY 16TH
Tumbling skills REQUIRED to attend this night of tryouts:





Standing double BHS tuck, R/O BHS layout, jumps to back handspring tuck/layout
front walkover, punch front through or whip to layout
standing back tuck
All skills must be without a spot or assistance!
o Specialty passes & skills will be evaluated such as (but not limited to):
 Punch front & punch front step-out round-off BHS layout
 Whips to tucks or layout
 Standing BHS tuck, BHS BHS tuck/layout
 Front handspring punch front step-out round-off handspring layout
6:00 – 8:00 PM: Ages 9 & over *Age as of August 31, 2016
Level 5, Tuesday, MAY 17TH - DIAMONDS TRYOUTS
Tumbling skills REQUIRED to attend this night of tryouts:
ALL Level 4 required skills & must at least have the following:



Toe touch (or any jump) to immediate back tuck, standing 2 BHS to layout,
standing tuck or full, R/O BHS full or double.
All skills must be without a spot or assistance!
o Specialty passes & skills will be evaluated such as (but not limited to):


 2 BHS to full or double
 Standing fulls & doubles, Arabians
 Round off half step-out though to full/double full
 Round-off BHS full handspring handspring full/double
This is a WORLDS team that will have extra fees to attend WORLDS in April of 2017 in Disney.
7:00 – 9:00 PM: Ages 12 & over *Age as of August 31, 2016
Tentative team placements will be listed on Sunday, May 22nd!
