This week when you’re in the car with your children, talk about stoplights and how we obey them when we stop on red, slow down on yellow, and go on green. Just like obeying stoplights is the right thing to do because it protects us, obeying God is also the right thing to do. Activity 2: Stoplights Play a game with your children where you give them directions to obey. Make the game fun by setting up an obstacle course with pillows and furniture in your house. You could even have your children build the obstacle course to practice being obedient. Each time your children do what you ask them to do, praise them for obeying you. Afterwards, talk about how we worship God when we obey Him in the same way. Activity 1: I Will Obey Genesis 12:1-20 is about Abraham obeying God when He told him to leave his family and move to another country. One night this week, read the story with your children and talk about how hard it must have been for Abraham to leave his home and family, but that God blessed him just like He promised.
