APRIL FASHION SHOW
Day Hab participants took part in Alternative Services Annual April Fashion Show. It’s a day of fun, creativity, and
self-expression. Participants were encouraged to wear something for the competition that expressed something
about themselves. Fashions ranged from contemporary sophistication to favored activities, dream occupations,
or idols.
THE WINNERS THIS YEAR WERE:
1st Place: Judy Fullencamp,
showing a flair for the Hawaiian
Islands, took to the runway like
a pro, in a grass skirt that she
made, complete with a few Hula
dance moves.
2nd Place: Jimmy Jacob, who
has a dream of becoming a
professional clown, and demonstrated his clown-style for under
the big top.
3rd Place: Stefanie Sink, wanted
to show the fashion style of a
doctor - in a colorful smock.
Special thanks to Fun City, and Hopefully Yours for donating gift certificates to our winners! Prize baskets also
included Pepsi products, and treats provided by the Knights of Columbus.
SHAMROCK SHUFFLE
HOLIDAY CALENDAR
(Days Vocational Programs are closed)
Norrgard and Witte Home residents and staff participated
in the Shamrock Shuffle 5 K run in March. Residents
include Mike Fuhrer, Sarah Fuhrer, Tisha Adkins,
Marvin Riley. Staff include Brittni McDowell, Amber
Breuer, Tania Hostetter, and Elizabeth Kuhlemeyer.

BEES WIN!
The Bees won against Cedar Rapids Kernels on
4/19/16. Day Hab had a fantastic day watching
the game. Even a brief rain shower couldn’t ruin
the day!
Hope Haven members meet at Faith Lutheran each

EARTH DAY CLEAN-UP
SAVE A TREE
Staff member Tania Hostetter and residents Mike Fuhrer,
Sarah Fuhrer, Marvin Riley and Tisha Adkins participated
in the Earth Day clean-up in Burlington on Saturday, April
19th. The group reported to the Port of Burlington for their
work assignments, then picked up over 7 large bags of
trash before returning to the Port to enjoy the meal that was
provided.

well as saving some green, we would like to
