1. Construct a conture map (there might be a fault)
2. Construct a total thickness isopach map
3. Construct a net sandstone isolith map
4. Construct a net shale isolith map
Combine the maps and select what you belive to be the best oil or gas prospects
Hints for Contour Lines:
Contour lines connect points of equal values (e.g. hight, thickness, content, ...)
Basic rules for contour lines:
Contour lines NEVER SPLIT or divide
Contour lines NVERE SIMPLY END (exept end of map)
Contour lines represent ONLY ONE VALUE
Contour lines NEVER INTERSECT (Overhanging cliffs may be the only exept)
CLOSELY space contour lines represent a rapid change
WIDE spaced contour lines represent a slow change
ANNOTATE your contour lines
Those rules have to be applied in every contour map you may draw
