January 16, 2017 Year 2 Book Study "a touching story that calms fears" The Guardian.com January 16, 2017 Meet Plop: January 16, 2017 Expectations • Each child is loaned the book from school (in a zipped plastic wallet). • The children will read a selected page or pages each week aloud to an adult/older sibling (teachers will inform children of which pages). • They will complete the homework based on the book every two weeks. A special book will be provided in the wallet for this homework to be completed in. • If your child struggles with reading, then please feel free to read the text to them or take turns to read some each and answer the questions together. January 16, 2017 At school: We will have a Reading lesson dedicated to 'The Owl who was Afraid of the Dark.' If your child has not completed the reading set by the teacher at home, they may find it difficult to understand and take part in the Reading lesson. January 16, 2017 Support at School Although we would like the children to read the story and discuss it with an adult/older sibling at home, we appreciate this is not always possible.
