Friday, August 30, 2013 7am-6pm - Tall Ship Windy offers 75 minute day sails and tours ($45.00). 9am-5pm - The reenactment village opens in DeRivera Park including historical demonstrations, education, and crafts. Food and craft vendors offer their wares for sale ($$). 9am-5pm - US Brig Niagara offers onboard tours to the public ($10.00). 11am-5pm - Concert series in DeRivera Park gazebo. 6pm - US Navy band performs at Perry's Victory. Food and craft vendors offer their wares for sale to all visitors ($$). 9am-5pm - US Brig Niagara offers onboard tours to the public ($10.00). 11am-5pm - Concert series in DeRivera Park gazebo. 2pm - US Coast Guard Silent Drill Team performs at Perry's Victory. [cancelled due to the federal government's sequestration] 3pm - Ohio State marching band marches through downtown. 8pm - Ohio State marching band gives concert at the monument. Dusk - Fireworks display over the harbor. 10am-5pm - Arts in the Park in DeRivera Park with arts & crafts people displaying and selling their original works. 11am - War of 1812 era Fashion Show at Perry's Victory. 2:15pm-3pm - Historical Weekend Grand Parade through downtown Put-in-Bay. 4pm - "The Official Almost True Campfire Tales of Put-in-Bay" by Tyler Whidden at Perry's Victory. Performed by the PIB Arts Council and Ensemble Theatre of Lakewood. 5pm - War of 1812 Military Tattoo performed by the Halifax Regiment at Perry's Victory. Dusk - Harbor illumination, the Lights of Peace along the shoreline with music provided by the Toledo Symphony Brass Ensemble. Monday, September 2, 2013 8am - Induction ceremony for the Battle of Lake Erie reenactment actors. 10am-4pm - Battle reenactment abourd the tall ships. They sail to the battle site at 10am, commence battle at 12pm, finish at 2pm, and return to port at 4pm. Saturday, August 31, 2013 7am-6pm - Tall Ship Windy offers 75 minute day sails and tours ($45.00). 9am-5pm - The reenactment village stays open in DeRivera Park including historical demonstrations, education, and crafts. Food and craft vendors offer their wares for sale ($$). 9am-5pm - US Brig Niagara offers onboard tours to the public ($10.00). 11am-5pm - Concert series in DeRivera Park gazebo. 2pm - Dance though history, teaching historic dance styles in preparation for the Regency Ball. 4pm - "The Official Almost True Campfire Tales of Put-in-Bay" by Tyler Whidden at Perry's Victory. Performed by the PIB Arts Council and Ensemble Theatre of Lakewood. 7pm - Main concert featuring Grammy nominated artist Iris DeMent and a national touring group. 7pm - The Regency Benefit Ball takes place and dancers dance historic dances ($25.00 single, $45.00 couple). Tuesday, September 3 - Friday, September 6, 2013 War of 1812 lecture series at Perry's Memorial. Sunday, September 8, 2013 9am - War of 1812 Ecumenical inter-denominational Religious Service at Perry's Victory. 2pm-5pm - The Ohio Historical Society Muffins vs the Put-in-Bay Mossbacks historical softball game at the softball field. 3pm-5pm - An afternoon of music at Perry's Victory featuring Put-in-Bay entertainers and musicians. IMPORTANT NOTES: Due to the higher passenger traffic expected on these Tuesday, September 10, 2013 weekends, the Miller Ferry will be restricting/curtailing the number of vehicles coming to the island in order to accommodate the passenger traffic! We ask you to please NOT try to bring your vehicle to Put-in-Bay, but instead walk on to either the Miller Ferry or Jet Express for your trip to the island. There are numerous taxis that can assist you in getting to your hotel, rental home, or lodging. Golf Carts are also expected to be sold out for walkup customers, so golf cart reservations are highly encouraged to ensure that you get a golf cart during your stay. Special unveiling and cancellation. 10am - Battle of Lake Erie Bicentennial wreath laying ceremony at the actual battle site. 2pm-5pm - Battle of Lake Erie Bicentennial commemoration ceremony begins with a procession from downtown to Perry's Victory. Commemorative program and official ceremony following the procession. A free concert by the Central Ohio Symphony follows that.
