HEADTEACHER’S NEWSLETTER TO PARENTS AND CARERS Dear Parents, Numeracy OPEN EVENING It was lovely to see so many Parents touring the school, with their children at Open Evening this week. We have in the past paid for lessons for the whole of Key Stage 2 but due to increasing costs and significant changes in the music curriculum, which now covers music appreciation, improvisation and to develop an understanding of the history of music (including great composers and musicians) it has been decided to give the children a good grounding in reading music and playing brass and woodwind in Lower KS2 and use this to help with the rest of the music curriculum in Upper KS2. Private lessons, with West Sussex Music service will continue to be available, please speak to the Office for further details. Band will continue as normal in September and is open to anyone in Key Stage 2 CLASSES FOR SEPTEMBER 2016 Please find below class teachers and teaching assistants for September 2016 No 15 18th July 2016 Hedgehogs: Teacher: Mrs L Donovan Teaching Assistant: Mrs Francis Owls Teacher: Mrs J Phillips Teacher: Mr Shaw Teaching Assistants: Mrs Scott Mrs Valentine Foxes Teacher: Mrs A Porter Teaching Assistants: Mrs Jury Mrs Scott Mrs Dennis Miss Johnson Buzzards: Teacher: Mr R Christmas Teaching Assistants: Mrs Jury Mrs Scott READING CHALLENGE 2016 The children have had an assembly about the Summer Reading challenge that is being run in West Sussex libraries.
