Prime Therapeutics Pharmacist Achieves Award
from the Minnesota Pharmacists Association
Justine Meierhofer is recognized with the Distinguished Young Pharmacist award
ST. PAUL, MINN. – October 3, 2016 – A pharmacist from Prime Therapeutics LLC (Prime), a
pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) serving nearly just over 22 million members nationally, was
recognized for industry achievement by the Minnesota Pharmacists Association (MPhA) at its
annual meeting recently in St. Paul.
MPhA recognized Justine Meierhofer, PharmD as the organization’s 2016 Distinguished Young
Pharmacist. Meierhofer holds the position of clinical program director of the health insurance
marketplace at Prime. She participates in the Minnesota Pharmacists Association and the
Academy of Managed Care Pharmacists (AMCP), where she has served as the AMCP liaison to
MPhA for the past three years. She also served as the AMCP diplomat to the University of
Minnesota from 2013 to 2015, where she taught a self-directed study course for students
interested in managed care.
“Over the past few years, MPhA has made a critical shift toward recognizing pharmacists
in all health care settings as important to helping solve the health care issues in this
country today,” said Meierhofer. “Being recognized with this award, as a person working
for a PBM, is a good marker of increased partnership across the health care industry.”
Meierhofer earned her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Pharmacy from the
University of Minnesota. She is currently enrolled in Augsburg College in its Master of
Business Administration program.
