How To Make A Great Cookie Bag! Supplies 1. Soft-baked cookies – chocolate chip cookies should be as fresh as possible; oatmeal raisin at least one day past baking. Other cookies may work, but Costco’s cut easily and taste fresh weeks after assembly if frozen 2. Sandwich bags that fold over (not ziploc style) – large quantity boxes available at grocery stores 3. Rectangular slips with a brief explanation titled “Where’s the rest of the cookie?” 4. Party favor plastic bags – packages usually contain 25 transparent bags with open tops 5. Narrow ribbon of a color that contrasts or matches the color of the rectangular slip – inexpensive cloth ribbon in small rolls often found at craft supply stores Assembling the cookie bag 1. Remove a wage gap wedge from each cookie 2. Place the cookie in a sandwich bag 3. Fold the flap and the rest of the bag neatly so a single layer is over the cookie top 4. Place a rectangular slip under the bagged cookie 5. Insert the bagged cookie and slip into a party favor bag 6. Cut ribbon into foot-long (or slightly shorter) pieces. Tie a bow tightly around the outside bag close to the cookie (with bow on the side with rectangular slip) Helpful hints! • Don’t make the wedge too large or too deep into the cookie – or it may break! • Cut out less than 1/4 of the cookie for the wedge – but large enough to be noticeable through the two plastic bags • Try out various ways of folding the sandwich bag around the cookie to cut down exposure to air, keep the folded bag neat, and have as little bulk as possible • Put the bow of the ribbon on the side with the rectangular slip when tying the ribbon around the larger plastic bag. This ensures that people will see the slip as they undo the bow. You need not worry that they will not see the cookie! • Assemblers should wash their hands before handling the cookies • Wedge pieces can be used for refreshments at Equal Pay Day events or given to teachers to help encourage students to show the bags (unopened) to their friends and families Have Fun!
