Alberta Mackenzie Provincial CWL Council
SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT
Communique #5
November 10, 2014
Greetings Sisters in the League
The month of November and especially November 11th is dedicated to a “Day of Remembrance” for the members
of our Military who have lost their lives serving our country.
November is also a time to remember our deceased `Sisters` who have also served their parishes, their community
and their country through their faith and service in the Catholic Women’s League. During this month, let us
remember them in our prayers and be thankful for the wonderful legacy that they have left for us. It’s in
remembering and recounting the many wonderful stories of our past members that we are encouraged to keep the
“Catholic Women’s League” a vibrant and faith-filled organization.
I would like to remind members that when a member passes on, it is important to let the National CWL know
immediately of their passing, so that their names can be kept on file to be placed in the CWL ‘Book of Life’ at all
levels of the League.
I am so pleased to hear that councils in Alberta Mackenzie are uniting in prayer with the rest of the members from
across Canada by praying the Rosary on Tuesdays for world peace. Members from each province have been asked
to pray the Rosary on a specific day of the week seeking Our Lady`s intercession for peace among peoples.
In closing, I would like to share this wonderful poem, as we remember those that have passed before us.
Taps
Day is done, gone the sun,
from the hills, from the sky.
All is well, safely rest,
safely rest, all is well.
Fading light dims the sight,
and a star gems the sky,
Gleaming bright from afar,
drawing nigh, falls the night.
Dear one, rest!
Prayers and Blessings!
