This letter is to explain some ideas I have to improve our school.
I think to improve our school we need to have a healthy lunch menue, the food we have now is
very unhealthy and not very tastey! I think this will improve our school alot. Another thing that we
need is a place to go when ever it rains/snows. because at the moment we have no where to go,
whenever we stand in the hallways we get told to stand outside in the cold frezzing weather!
A healthy menue will improve our school majorly, with more healthy food the pupils will be more
active and ready to learn!
And a place to stay when it rains/snow will not only bennifit the students but the teachers aswell.
Normaly when it rains we are sent outside, and we get wet and this puts us in a bad mood and
makes us grumpy, but if we had a place to go we would be dry and we would be happy and we
would go to our next lesson smiling!
I hope you take in these ideas and use them.

I am a pupil of year 10 at your school, and would like to share a few ideas with you, on how to
improve the school. Firstly I would like to start by mentioning the uniform. I think that if we didn’t
have school uniform, the school would be improved. I think that at the moment, the uniform is a big
issue, the blazers are black and get very hot in the summe, but have silk on the inside so get very
cold. The prices of uniform these days are disgusting! Howeve I do underatnd that the less fortunat
children/pupils in the school mights feel upset, wearing cheap clothes, while others are wearing
designer labels, but if less money was spent on uniform, more money could be spent on nicer
clothes. I also understand that we have inspectors, and photos, which is why I think we should
wear uniform, one day a week. Therfore, we can have inspectors and photo’s on that one day. If
not our own clothes, surely we should be allowed our own style. Wear our ties how we want them,
our shirts untucked for comfort, we should be able to express our personality through our clothing.
The government is trying to encourage us to be separate individuals and by making us look the
same, you are going against on of the most powerful men in Britain!
Another point I would like to make, is tuck food. The food is extremely greasy and very un-higenic.
They reuse the left over food. Teachers should not be feeding us left over food! On the other hand,
I know that it is quite expensive having to buy lots of food all the time but surely the pupils heath
should come first?
I think that we should have nice drinks in the drinks machine, and at a reasonable price. Coke,
lemonade, Fanta. We should be allowed fizzy drinks. Another issue is the prices, a small bottle of
apple juice, almost £1! It’s a disgrace that our own school is trying to take all our money!
I think that asking for homework/independent learing to be cut off completely, having to do
homework wastes time. After spending 30 hours working at school every week, the weekend
should be a time for relaxing, not doing more work!
We could be exercising or socializing, but instead were stuck working.
I hope you think about some of my ideas.

I am writing to you today to express my opinion on how our fantastic school can be improved. As a
student at the (name) High School I would hope my thoughts/oppinion may have some importance
to you.
First of all I would like to bring up the current state of the canteen. It is quite simply discussing.
There is litter, graffiti and even drinks spilt all over the floor! Would you like to be responsible for a
child slipping on a wet floor? We need to make changes quickly. The solution to this problem would
be very simple. The school needs to hve a cleaner that is dedicated to just cleaning the canteen,
this would prevent any accident. It was only last week that I slipped on the canteen floor.
Another problem that has been around for years is unhealthy school dinners. What kind of start to
life our we giving children by feeding them this junk food? It will only end up with health problems in
the future. Instead of a ham burger drenched in fat why not give the children pasta or fruit?
I’ve noticed that students have been wearing sport’s training and tracksuit bottoms to school. As a
proud student I think this is very disrespectful to our school name. We should all be proud of
(name) High School, don’t you think? The fact that teachers are not stopping this is quite worry for
me personally as they are the people who have the authority to change this. In the future I would
love to see everyone united as a school by wearing our full uniform.
As we both know there has been alot of damage done to the school property in recent weeks. The
fact that we have no CCTV camera’s to catch the people who are breaking the school windows at
night is disgraceful. I know these camera’s will be expensive but surely they are worth it in the long
term.
As a student here I hope you take my opinion into consideration and hopefully put some of my
ideas into action.
