Executive Headteacher: Mr.David Hickey
Dear Parents,
We have had a number of parents contact the schools asking
whether their children could attend both All Saints and St
Margaret’s Schools because they have heard from our
parents just what good schools they are. This is great news
and I am pleased to say we can manage with the increase in
the school’s rolls. It is sad to announce that Mrs Kerr will not
be returning after maternity leave as she has resigned in her
post as part time teacher. We wish Mrs Kerr all the best and
thank her for all the work she has done for the Federation.
This will allow us to employ someone to replace Mrs Kerr
internally and this appointment will work with Years 3 and 4.
This means that the two age groups will be in separate
classes each morning for the key subjects of Maths and
English. In the afternoon, the two classes will combine and
follow the topic work aspects of the curriculum with Mrs
Noakes.
Our parents are doing a great job of supporting our schools
and spreading the good news about the achievements and
success of our children. Thank-you to you all.
I will be writing to you on Monday as I know not all parents
have ready access to the newsletter through the internet. I
shall also be writing separately to all the parents of children
in Years 3 and 4 to ensure they are fully briefed on what is
happening at the school.
If you have any questions about developments at the school,
please either talk to me at the end of the school day or come
into the school and make an appointment to see me. Once
again, thank-you for all your support. We are fortunate to
have such good parents who appreciate the high standards of
education we provide and recognise our good work
Our ethos statement for the week
God’s love is found in unexpected places
and makes a big difference
in our lives.
Both schools will be open on Tuesday as our
teaching staffs are not in the union that are
striking.

Mrs Noakes: The parents of year 5 children were notified
this week that Mrs Noakes will not be in school for the rest
of this term due to personal circumstances. Mrs Noakes will
return to school for the new school year in September to
take up her post teaching Y3 & Y4. We understand that
changes of teacher can be unsettling, so please rest assured
that we have worked to ensure that all the children have
the best possible provision with minimum disruption. In
order to make sure that the education of all year 5 children
carries on as smoothly as possible we have arranged for Mr
Lolley to work with the Year 5 children for the remainder
of term starting on Monday 4th July.
Father Vincent: Both schools had a visit from Father
Vincent who is standing in for Father Greg while he is away
on holiday. Father Vincent spoke to the children about his
parish in Uganda and the children he works with. He spoke a
lot about the work he does with charities to help raise
money for his community to help them have shelter and
clean running water. Father asked if our children could be
pen pals for the children in his parish. We look forward to
starting this in the new school year. We would like to thank
Father Vincent for his visit and we will look forward to
welcoming him back to Glossop in the near future.
Tennis Competition: Well done to Edward Watson, Daniel
Buckley, Jack Parker, Harris Kelly, Matthew Birkhead,
James McCabe, Aidan Keogh and Max Stenka. They all took
part in a tennis competition at Pyegrove Tennis club with Ms
Hemmingway and by all accounts did extremely well. Who
knows we might have a future Wimbledon Champion in the
making!
