Welcome to Ohio Resource List
What We Did This Month
 March 1 marked Ohio’s 214th birthday! We took a look at our great state, from historical facts to huge
attractions and a lot in between. First, we read a short book, Ohio, to give us some basic information.
Some of what we read we already knew and some we would need to remember for later.
 Then we looked a few more Ohio books that are available for checkout here at the library. We spent a
few minutes picking out cool facts and little-known tidbits of info.
 Next we worked on Ohio Instant “Fax” worksheet from Ohio “Jography” by Carole Marsh. We learned
some of the answers in the books we read and found out the rest. We also worked as a group on a quiz
called Do You Know Ohio? Found at
https://www.sos.state.oh.us/sos/upload/quiz/quiz.aspx?page=12904, this was more challenging but a lot
of fun guessing the answers.
 After learning all kinds of information, we worked on an “Our State From A to Z” worksheet, taken
from Ohio “Jography” by Carole Marsh. We had to come up with words and things from Ohio for each
letter of the alphabet.
 Lastly before our craft, we took a brief field trip to the Sherman Room, housed here at Main Library.
The librarian, Boyd, gave us a brief overview of the history resources available for customers to access.
 Our craft was an Ohio state flag. The students colored their flag, cut it out, and taped it to a dowel stick.
