Focus on activity: Making a movie from a song

Preparation:
• Watch the selected videos to become acquainted with the songs. Then print out the worksheets (1 and/or
2) with activities and lyrics. Visit the website <www.animoto.com>, which teaches how to make a movie.
Procedures:
• Have students form pairs.
• Tell students that they are going to watch a video/listen to a song. Then ask them to focus on the
worksheet to match the items without checking the lyrics.
• Play the video/song twice and let students work together on the worksheets.
• Ask students to look for the verb tenses while checking the lyrics.
• Have students focus on phonetics. Give an example of each sound so they can look for other instances
in the lyrics. Have them fill in the chart. Ask students if they know other words with the same sound.
• Correct all the tasks and discuss the meaning of the song.
• Ask students to go to <www.animoto.com> or Windows Movie Maker and put together a video using
the song worksheet.
Wrap-up:
• Have students watch their classmates’ videos.
