A Hands-On Program for Teens
Open to students ages 14-20 years old who want to learn about the plethora of
careers in healthcare & hospital services.
Meetings held once a month Sept 2016 through May 2017.
Registration will be held online SUNDAY, AUGUST 14 – WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31.

HEALTHCARE EXPLORERS PROGRAM OVERVIEW








Developed specifically for teenagers to introduce them to different healthcare careers
Open to all girls and boys ages 14-20
Hendricks Regional Health is home to an Explorers Post where we investigate the many
facets of healthcare, both clinical and non-clinical professions
Students are engaged with hands-on activities, games, presentations, and chances to
closely interact with professionals such as:
o Physicians
o Nurse Practitioners
o Physician Assistants
o Dietitians
o Registered Nurses
o Wellness Coordinators
Meetings held at the hospital once a month on the 2nd Wednesday
Explorers who are juniors and seniors are encouraged to shadow at the hospital as an
additional way to experience the job fields
Explorers are among the first to receive information about applicable hospital job
openings and similar opportunities, as well as detailed information about the healthcare
degrees offered at local colleges and universities.
Program only accepting 50 students for the 2016-2017 year

Registration will be held online from Sunday, August 14th through Wednesday, August 31st. The
cost of the program will be approximately $35/student. To register, please visit
