How long was Jennifer’s shift?
1683 ÷ 187 = 9 hours

cookies should the deli expect will be delivered?

5. The Bakers are traveling by car to Phoenix, Arizona for vacation. They average 65
miles per hour driving. Phoenix is 2,275 miles from their home. How long will it take the
Bakers to get to Phoenix? (Do not include time to stop for gas, eat, etc.)
2,275 ÷ 65 = 35 hours

ice pops in makes 100 ice pops at a time. How many trays of pops must be made in one
hour?
6,000 ÷ 100 = 60 trays

play their entire collection of 3,542 songs?
3,542 ÷ 8 = 442 R 6 = 442.75 hours = 442¾ hours
= 442 hours, 45 minutes

8. Tom is filling cup with juice for the class party. There are two gallons of juice and 16
students. How many ounces of juice will each student get? (1 gallon = 128 ounces)
2 · 128 = 256 ounces in 2 gallons
256 ÷ 16 = 16 ounces

9. Sasha was billed for 1426 text messages on her cellular phone for the month of
October. If she sent the same number of messages each day how many messages did she
send each day?
1,426 ÷ 31 = 46 messages
