Objective
This course will provide a platform for discussion on the latest developments in
agricultural tractors, soil tillage implements and GPS technologies used on
modern tractors.
Workshop Leader
Mark Francis is the Manager Gregoire-Besson Group for Asia/Australasia/Pacific
Island.
Previously, he worked for New Holland Agriculture as a Business Manager and
prior to that he worked with a division of AGCO Corp & distributor for
Australia/New Zealand of the AGCO brands (Challenger, Fendt, Massey Ferguson,
and Valtra). He has specialist knowledge of farm machinery, especially wheeled
and tracked tractors. He is actively involved in technical field support and training
in several countries, including Mauritius in 2013 and 2014.
Contents
Introduction to the basics of wheel/tyre construction and a guide to
maintenance
and
operation
of
wheel/tyres
for
agricultural
tractors/implements.
Overview of the modern diesel engine and its maintenance and operation
requirements.
Basics of tractor set-up and operation and an in-field overview of operation
and adjustment.
Soil types and cultivation techniques/implements.
Soil moisture and consistency.
PTO driven implements, operation/maintenance (including green manuring
implements).
In-field tractors for wet zones.
Implements for the maintenance and improvement of soil structures
(subsoilers/deep rippers/one-pass cultivators). A guide to selection and
operation.
An overview of GPS guidance, telemetry and electronic systems for the
modern tractor.
Target audience
Field and Area Managers and assistants, Garage Managers, Agronomists,
employees of agricultural mechanization companies and contractors, suppliers of
agricultural machinery including tyres, research staff, growers, etc.
Fees
MUR 24,000 per participant
Cancellation policy
A full refund will be given for cancellations received up to 2 weeks before the
course. Cancellations must be made in writing and reach the RTC before the 2
weeks. If cancellations occur less than 2 weeks before the course, 50% of the
course fees will be due. A replacement is always welcome.
RTC regrets that no refund will be paid for any enrolled persons who fail to attend
the course.
HRDC refund
The G1 form should be filled in for HRDC refund purpose and sent to HRDC three
days before the beginning of the course.
