ProTaper Universal (left) features a convex triangle cross-section and

M-WIRE TECHNOLOGY
The M-Wire NiTi material improves file flexibility, while still retaining cutting
efficiency. This is achieved through an advanced DENTSPLY proprietary
thermal treatment process.
Research has shown that M-Wire, a metallurgically improved version of
NiTi, reduces cyclic fatigue by 400% when comparing files of the same
diameter, cross section, and taper.1

SWAGGERING EFFECT FROM PATENTED, RECTANGULAR
OFFSET CROSS-SECTION
The file is designed so its mass of rotation is offset. This leads to
3 major advantages:
1. Gives the file a snake-like “swaggering” movement as it moves
through the canal. This results in optimisation of root canal tracking
as only two points of the rectangular cross section touch the canal
wall at a time. Reduced engagement limits undesirable taper lock,
the screw effect, and the torque on any given file.2
2.More cross-sectional space for enhanced cutting, loading, and
removal of debris from a canal. Decreases the probability for laterally
compacting debris and blocking root canal system anatomy.2
3.A bigger envelope of motion. A smaller-sized and more flexible
PROTAPER NEXT file can cut the same-size preparation as a larger
and stiffer file with a centered mass and axis of rotation.2

GUTTACORE® for PROTAPER NEXT is the
first obturator technology that uses a crosslinked gutta percha core. Cross-linking is
a well-established scientific process that
connects the polymer chains and transforms
the gutta percha to make it stronger, while
keeping its best features.
THERMAPREP® 2 oven has been designed
for use with the new GUTTACORE
obturators. In addition to the GUTTACORE
obturators, the THERMAPREP 2 oven works
with THERMAFIL®, PROTAPER® UNIVERSAL
and WAVEONE® obturators.

TREATMENT
Shaping files
The PROTAPER NEXT shaping files make it possible to treat the vast majority
of endodontic cases.
Glide path files
The recommended rotary glide path files for PROTAPER NEXT are the DENTSPLY
MAILLEFER PROGLIDER™ 016 .02 .
Endo motor
The X-SMART™ PLUS motor is everything you liked about the X-SMART with a plus!
The plus benefits include no foot pedal, an on/off button on the motor hand
piece as well as a miniature contra-angle head to provide excellent visibility and
access. File selection can be made at a single glance with the ISO colour-coded
file library. The motor operates in continuous or reciprocating motion with preprogrammed settings to save time in your daily practice. Only one speed (300
rpm) and one torque setting (2 Ncm) is required for all PROTAPER NEXT files.
OBTURATION
PROTAPER NEXT paper points match the size of the canals prepared with a
PROTAPER NEXT file and are developed for rapid drying of canals.
The paper points are provided sterile for patient protection.
PROTAPER NEXT gutta percha points match the size of the canals
prepared with PROTAPER NEXT files, allowing you to achieve precise
master-cone obturation.
GUTTACORE® for PROTAPER NEXT is the first obturator technology that uses
a cross-linked gutta percha core. Cross-linking is a well-established scientific
process that connects the polymer chains and transforms the gutta percha to
make it stronger, while keeping its best features.
RETREATMENT
THERMAPREP® 2 oven has been designed for use with the new GUTTACORE
obturators. In addition to the GUTTACORE obturators, the THERMAPREP 2 oven
works with THERMAFIL®, PROTAPER® UNIVERSAL and WAVEONE® obturators.
In the event of retreatment, PROTAPER® UNIVERSAL retreatment files are the
recommended instruments for the removal of obturation material.
