MUFFINS FOR M LAWI
Muffin/cake sales are a great way for everyone to get involved in helping us raise money for sustainable projects
in Malawi. They are fun and easy to organise and are a great way to engage children in fundraising activities.
WHY HAVE A SALE?
They don’t cost much to set up and run. They allow low level participation
for people to join as muffins don’t take a huge amount of time to prepare.
They can be a great opportunity to spread the world about helping people in
poverty in Malawi and our work supporting sustainable projects.
Cakes are delicious and for a donation you get something in return.
PLANNING YOUR MUFFIN SALE
Find a date. Find a great venue
Recruit your amazing team of bakers. You can share our recipes for muffins.
Make sure all muffins have the ingredients listed and any notices regarding allergies are displayed.
Tell everyone about your event. Use email, social media, word of mouth, posters etc.
RUNNING THE MUFFIN SALES
Make sure you have a great looking stall. Get some nice napkins, plates etc. Presentation is the
fun part and it’s important. You could also offer drinks on your stall for a small donation.
YOU NEED
Tables - Which are broad enough so people can see what you are offering.
Table cloths - Make everything look attractive.
Plates - China or paper. Maybe a cake stand? Napkins.
Paper bags or plastic freezer bags if people want to take cakes home.
Pricing for the muffins on labels and description of what is in the muffins Remember to list any ingredients which may cause allergies.
Cash box and a cash float (With regard to pricing, muffins are normally around 50p).

BE CREATIVE
Enjoy the sale more by decorating the stand in Malawian colours and calling the cakes different names.
You can download our resources to help you. Wear a uniform or dress up for the sale.
You might want to sell a little recipe book of muffin recipes from the day for a little extra fundraising.
Have savoury muffins as well as sweet ones.
AFTER THE BAKE SALE
Always say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone and let everyone
know how much you raised and where the funds are going.
