Rye Whiskey Set
“Rye Whiskey” in the United States must be made from a mash of at least 51% rye by law.
The other ingredients of the mash are typically malted barley and corn. Rye Whiskey almost
totally disappeared following Prohibition, but it has seen a major resurgence in recent years.
It imparts a spicy, fruity, and sweeter flavor than other whiskeys. Rye Whiskey is the main
ingredient in a “Manhattan”. Try each of these and decide which one you like best.

Sauternes
Nine 375 ml bottles. The 2005 vintage is one of the most classic in history in terms of
power and elegance. The summer drought was the second driest year since 1897. Other
similar hot and dry years have proven to be some of the greatest vintages. Fortunately, rain
in September provided the needed moisture for the start of the necessary botrytis to produce
a great Sauterne vintage. The classic morning fogs were followed by afternoon sunshine,
creating the perfect weather conditions for classic Sauternes. This wide collection of
producers will provide a great experience of the 2005 Sauternes vintage.

One Bottle 1990 Château Margaux
The 1990 Margaux continues to be the quintessential example of this Château. In addition to
being profoundly concentrated, its ethereal bouquet of sweet black fruits, cedar, spices,
flowers, smoke, and vanilla is remarkably well-formed and intense. In the mouth, there is not
a hard edge to this classic wine, which is super-concentrated, soft, silky-textured, and
opulent. It displays an opaque ruby/purple color, a compelling bouquet, and exquisite layers
of flavors that cascade over the palate without any notion of toughness or coarseness. The
1990 vintage now rates among Château Margaux’s top four of the past quarter-century.

One Bottle 2008 Cardinale Red Wine
One Bottle 2009 Cardinale Red Wine
"Over 1,000 cases of the 2008 Cardinale were made from a blend of 91% Cabernet
Sauvignon, and 8% Merlot. The 2008 exhibits a dense purple color along with sweet kirsch,
unsmoked cigar tobacco, toasty oak and black currant characteristics. The wine hits the
palate with a resounding opulence, full-bodied richness, moderate, sweet, well-integrated
tannins and a long, heady finish and should last for 20-25+ years." - Robert Parker, 96 rating.
"The 2009 Cardinale is a gorgeous, beautifully balanced wine endowed with gorgeous
textural finesse and depth. Dark red fruit, spices, and mint are woven together beautifully in
this supple, engaging wine. Bright floral notes add lift, freshness, and vibrancy on the finish.
There is enough finesse to make the 2009 approachable early, but also enough richness to
suggest the wine will drink early for a number of years." Robert Parker, 93+ rating.

3 Liter Roederer Estate brut, Anderson Valley Sparkling Wine
The Roederer NV Anderson Valley Brut stands out for its refinement and customary vitality.
It marries a bit of citrus and green-apple fruit with incisive, not-too-strident yeast and finds
subtle complexities in the form of background minerality. It is fairly tight and very much

Three Bottles of 2011 Vincent Girardin Chassagne-Montrachet Les Vieilles
Vignes Cote de Beaune
The vineyards are located in the Puligny-Montrachet Village area, in the south of the Côte de
Beaune in Burgundy. The grapes are harvested, hand-sorted, and are wholly pressed in a
pneumatic press at a low pressure to get a slow extraction. After a cold settling and a gentle
racking of the must, the wine is put in French oak casks (15% of new oak). The primary and
malolactic fermentations can then begin with wild yeasts. The aging on fine lees is a long 14
months. This is a powerful wine with mineral notes and well-integrated acidity. The most
mineral wine among the white villages wines from the Côte de Beaune, especially ChassagneMontrachet and Meursault.

2003 Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Renaissance, Domaine du Cristia
"The brilliant 2003 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvee Renaissance is 85% Grenache and 15% new
oak-aged Mourvedre. Its dense purple color is accompanied by glorious aromas of creosote,
crushed rocks, blueberries, blackberries, and flowers. With fabulous concentration,
moderately high tannin, and a long, heady finish, this structured, big Châteauneuf should
last for until at least 2020." - Robert Parker, 94+ rating.

Promise is a small boutique Napa Valley winery making small lots that are almost exclusively

fantastically integrated and balanced. The mouthfeel is both complex and soft due to the
velvety tannins that create a supple and gratifying texture, but also a structured backbone
that provides outstanding length and makes this wine age-worthy.

Château Margaux was one of the first four estates to be named a First Growth (Premier or
1er Cru Classé) in the Bordeaux Classification of 1855, and continues to be one of the most
prestigious wines in all of France. The 1978 is a rich, full-bodied, concentrated Margaux that
only suffers in comparison with the great vintages produced under the Mentzelopoulos
regime. In any event, it remains one of the few great wines from the 1978 vintage. Rated 92

Château-Margaux, 1975, Two Bottles
First Growth Château Margaux has been making wines that have been sought after by
wealthy wine lovers for centuries. The 1975 vintage, which was immediately acknowledged
in Bordeaux as a great success, developed very slowly in the bottle, especially those wines

finesse which is so characteristic of the old vintages of Château Margaux.

One Bottle of 2006 Pride Mountain Vineyards Reserve Cabernet
Sauvignon
The utterly profound 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve reveals abundant notes of licorice,
creme de cassis, unsmoked high class cigar tobacco, and toasty oak. Full-bodied with

loads of potential, this stunning wine is capable of lasting 15-20 years. Rated 98 by Robert
Parker.
One Bottle 1997 Siver Oak Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
The 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa looks to be one of the finest wines made by the
winemaking team of proprietor Justin Meyer and winemaker/viticulturist Daniel Baron. The
1997 Napa is an impressive effort. A blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest 5%
Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, this wine has a flamboyant nose of fruitcake, licorice,
Asian spice, black currants, and toasty wood. Deep, opulent, viscous, intense, chewy, and
thick, it is a classic Napa Cabernet Sauvignon made in an all-American oak lovers' style.
Rated 94 by Robert Parker.
One Bottle 1990 Caymus Special Selection Napa Valley Cabernet
Sauvignon
The 1990 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection appears to be the best Caymus has produced
since 1986 and 1985. The wine offers a saturated dark purple color, and a rich, spicy, oaky
nose backed up by generous quantities of jammy blackcurrants. Ripe, highly extracted, and
full-bodied, with copious amounts of sweet tannin and layers of fruit, this is a knock-out,
flamboyantly-styled Cabernet. Rated 94 by Robert Parker.

Three Bottles 1996 Dunn Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
The opaque blue/purple-colored 1996 Dunn Cabernet Sauvignon Napa boasts an
exceptional nose of creme de cassis, minerals, and spice. It takes at least a decade for wines
such as this to begin to reveal more identity and vintage character. The cassis/blackberry
liqueur-like fruit are present, as are mouthsearing levels of tannin and impressive extract.
This blockbuster should be at its peak between 2010-2040. Rated 94 by Robert Parker.
Three Bottles 1995 Kathryn Kennedy Santa Cruz Mts. Estate Cabernet
Sauvignon
The 1995 Kathry Kennedy Cabernet poccess deep ruby color, pungent aromas of red- and
blackcurrant, cherry skin, pipe tobacco and dried flowers, with a subtle mineral undertone.
Juicy, penetrating dark berry and bitter cherry flavors are complicated by notes of peppery
spice and a touch of vanilla. Fine-grained tannins gain strength with air and add grip and
shape to a long, spicy finish. This is built to age. "This is classic Santa Cruz, down to the
grippy tannins. Tuck it away for five years if you can, and you will be amazed." - Stephen
Stanzer, rating 92.

Wine Conditions
Variations exist between bottles of the same label and year; this is
especially true of older wines. Differences may be due to handling,
storage conditions, corkage and maturation processes. To estimate a
wine’s condition, examine the neck and shoulder levels of the wine in
the bottle, the condition of the capsule around the cork, any evidence of
seepage around the capsule and the sediment at the bottom of the
bottle.
