Have a great day at the beach... Lifeguards There are many beaches in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. Bondi, Bronte and Tamarama beaches are patrolled by Waverley Council professional lifeguards who wear distinctive bright blue shirts, while Maroubra, Clovelly and Coogee beaches are patrolled by Randwick Council lifeguards in a dark blue and white uniform. Bondi, Maroubra and Coogee beaches are patrolled by lifeguards every day of the year. Bronte, Tamarama and Clovelly are patrolled from late-September to the end of April. For your safety, only swim when beaches are patrolled and always swim between the red and yellow flags. Stairs on the walk are as marked. SUN PROTECTION Although parks offer shade and shelter, the walk itself does not. Don’t forget your hat, sunscreen and drinking water. DOGS Dogs are allowed on the Coast Walk and beach promenades if they are on a lead. They are not allowed in parks, beaches or the cemetery. Bags are available at points along the walk – please clean up after your furry friend.
