LET’s MAKE andlewick C Embroidered Table Runner Created by Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores® Supplies & Tools: •1 yd denim, white •5 skeins embroidery floss, red •Embroidery or chenille needle •Water-erasable marker •Embroidery hoop, optional •Sewing machine •Basic sewing supplies •Iron & ironing surface Directions: 1. Cut two pieces of denim 15"x54". 2. Use the water-erasable marker to transfer the provided patterns to the back side of one piece of denim. Mark one large snowflake in the center and three smaller snowflakes at each end. Note: The back side will be the right side of the finished piece, so the twill weave is not as evident. 3. With all five strands of embroidery floss, embroider the design using the colonial knot stitch. The colonial stitch is similar to the French knot except that the thread is wrapped around the needle in a figure eight pattern. After doing the figure eight, the needle is put back in the fabric close to, but not in, the hole the thread came from. Be sure the working thread is to the left of the knot before inserting the needle back in the fabric. 4. With right sides together, stitch the two denim pieces together with a 1/2" seam allowance leaving a small opening for turning. Turn, press and slipstitch opening.
