BLACKHILL ENGINEERING IS A FIRST CLASS
ENGINEERING AND FABRICATION SERVICE
COMPANY. WE PROVIDE AN EXPANSIVE
PORTFOLIO OF MACHINE ENGINEERING
INCLUDING LARGE FABRICATION AND
COMPLEX MACHINE ASSEMBLY SERVICES.
Our fabrication workshop covers 798 sq. m.
and includes two overhead cranes that can
be arranged to combine lift up to 60 tonnes.
Within our fabrication department our team
of highly skilled fabricators have been
independently tested and coded to guarantee
accuracy and quality. The team is expert in
producing a wide range of fabrications in
mild steel, aluminium and stainless steel.
Proud of our heritage, we have been providing
our customers with unique fabrication and
machining services for over 60 years, from large
complex assemblies to simple bespoke items.
Our certified factory production
control system permits us to
legally supply structural steel
work to Execution class 3.

We are located in the South West just off the
M5 corridor. Set on an established two acre
site with 28,000 sq. ft. of workshop capacity,
we can handle the largest of fabrication and
machining projects. Over the years we have
built up an impressive portfolio of customers
spread across multiple sectors including
marine, defence, oil and gas and renewables.

MACHINE SHOPS
To complement the fabrication facility our
machine shops have been arranged with
a comprehensive range of large machinery
and associated capabilities. These include
milling, turning and boring equipment.
Our team of expert engineers are used to working
with the large fabrications our workshops produce.
This capability, combined with our other specialist
departments, allows us to provide our customers
with a complete range of engineering services,
all located on a single site.

DESIGN
CE MARKING
Since 1 July 2014 it has been a mandatory
legal requirement that all fabricated
structural steelwork delivered to site must
be CE marked. In order to comply with the
regulations, only steel work suppliers with
an execution class equal to that required
for the project may be considered.
There are four execution classes:
• EXC1 | Farm Buildings
• EXC2 | Buildings
• EXC3 | Bridges
• EXC4 | Specialist Structures
Blackhill Engineering is pleased to confirm that
our factory production control system is approved
and certified to Execution class 3. This means we
can legally supply CE marked aluminium and steel
fabrications up to and including level 3.
Our team of engineers design and manage a wide range of fabrications
and equipment ranging from large complex assemblies (including
structural steel work) to small bespoke components.
We are happy to visit any site to discuss
your ideas, requirements or specifications.
The team will then produce proposal
drawings and quotations, including full
design and workshop drawings,
fabrication and installation.
We have the capabilities to re‑engineer
worn or corroded plant and machinery,
produce design drawings for any
modifications for improvement in function,
reliability or process changes. We can
assist with the production of prototypes,
test rigs and trials plans.
We are also happy to manage fabrications
and projects detailed on customer’s
arrangement or production drawings.
