Mission Statement
Sadler Health Center Corporation, a community-focused organization, provides unparalleled health services, delivered by committed, dedicated, and well trained staff that improves the health and well-being of those most in need within our service area.
Acknowledgement of 2010 Donors
On the afternoon of August 12th, Sadler celebrated National Health Center Week. Participants included: Cumberland-Perry Drug & Alcohol Commission, SuperReader, Cumberland County 4-H
Penn State Cooperative Extension, Cumberland-Perry County Early Intervention, Carlisle Arts &
Learning Center, United Way (Success by 6), Cumberland County Sheriff’s Dept., Unison Health Plan,
PA Hunger Action Center, and a home safety hazard display from Injury Prevention of PA Department of Health. Health related demonstrations were done by Sadler employees. We were fortunate
to accept donations from High Peak Tent Rentals, Blue Mountain Chapter Alliance of Bikers Aimed
Toward Education, Peter’s Orchards, Snyder’s of Hanover, Walmart., and M&Z Carpets.
The children (and adults) enjoyed the refreshing snow cones!!

Sadler awards Community Partner Award
Carlisle Regional Medical Center was the recipient of Sadler’s 1st Community Partner
Award given during Sadler’s Annual Meeting in June. Chris Houston and Judy Castrina
(board members) are seen presenting the award to CRMC CEO, John Kristel. CRMC
provides many services to our patients and the Carlisle community.
Annual Board Meeting Highlights
Sadler held its Annual Board Meeting on 6/28/2010. Elected officials, physicians, Dickinson College professors, members of community
organizations, Sadler Board & committee members and staff attended the meeting, as well as members of the Carlisle community.
Chris Houston (outgoing chair) called the meeting to order. Chris commended Sadler for being an efficient and well-managed community health center. Chris expressed his feeling that Sadler is up to the challenge of providing seamless, holistic, quality medical, dental
and, in the near future, behavioral health services. Areas of focus for the new year were discussed. Chris recognized the Board members
and ad hoc committee members and thanked all for their dedication and expertise.
Elections were held for the 2010-2011 Executive Committee: Judy Castrina (Chair); Tricia Naylor (Vice-Chair);
Jane Burke (Treasurer), and Linda Widener (Secretary).

COMMITTEE HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE PAST YEAR
Buildings & Grounds Committee detailed all the improvements and repairs made to the facilities, renewed various maintenance agreements, purchased additional liability insurance for NFP Perry County site.
Finance Committee discussed the annual audit by Smith Elliott Kerns & Co. It was announced that all long term debt, related to renovations, was paid in full. Sadler served 23,300 patient visits this last year, 8,100 were unduplicated patients.
Board Development & Education has been recruiting new Board & committee members and administering a Board Self-Assessment, as
well as developing new topics for Board education.
Marketing & Community Partnership produced 2008-2009 Annual Report, participated in various community outreach events, established a “no show” contest for patients for early appointment arrivals, planned the Perry County Dental Clinic Open House/Ribbon Cutting
and held several staff appreciation events for Sadler staff.
Quality Assurance worked on risk management strategies resulting from a medical record review, monitored department QA projects,
completed chart review of Sadler’s infants, and recruited a QA Coordinator.
Center Operations gave statistics for all departments, created a new Quality Assurance sub-committee, participated in the Reach Out &
Read program, developed new dental/medical scheduling templates, provided the opportunity for HACC dental hygienist students to rotate
through Center for part of their training, served as an Advisory Board for the NFP program, approved policies on Rights of Patients, and
approved a new Patient Satisfaction Survey.
Executive Committee set goals for 2010-2011, approved 17 new hires, established a “Dream Team” to strengthen systems in place,
formed a nominating committee to choose new Executive Committee, approved new wage and salary plan for staff, approved establishment
of health insurance sub-committee to review Sadler’s health benefits package, and conducted strategic planning retreat to establish goals for
Sadler’s 2010-2011 strategic plan.
