CHAPTER 8 PowerPoint More Skills 11 Create Photo Albums from Templates 䉴 PowerPoint 2010 provides several templates that contain slide layouts designed specifically for creating electronic photo albums. To complete this presentation, you will need the following files: 䊏 New, blank PowerPoint presentation 䊏 p08_Vacation1 䊏 p08_Vacation2 䊏 p08_Vacation3 䊏 p08_Vacation4 䊏 p08_Vacation5 You will save your presentation as: 䊏 Lastname_Firstname_p08_Vacation 1. Start PowerPoint. Click the File tab. Click New. Under Available Templates and Themes, click Sample Templates. In the Available Templates and Themes gallery, click the Urban Photo Album thumbnail, and then click the Create button. Compare your screen with Figure 1. A new presentation is created from the Urban Photo Album template. In the displayed Save As dialog box, navigate to your PowerPoint Chapter 8 folder, and Save the presentation as Lastname_Firstname_p08_Vacation 3. On Slide 1, replace the text Urban Photo Album with Aspen Falls Vacation 4. View all of the slides, and read the content on each slide to learn about the picture effects available. In the pane that contains the Slides and Outline tabs, select the Slide 2 thumbnail, and then press and hold the V key and click the Slide 7 thumbnail. Release the V key, and with Slides 2 through 7 selected, right-click Slide 7, and then click Delete Slide. Slide 2 is now the Snapshots slide. 5. If necessary, display Slide 2. Click the left picture of a gear, and then on the Format tab, in the Adjust group, click the Change Picture button. From your student files, insert p08_Vacation1. 6. In the photo placeholder, select the text Mechanical Flower, and type Wine Country Tours Select the text New layouts bring creativity to your presentation, and type Art and Social Scene Compare your screen with Figure 2. All rights reserved. 11. In the pane that contains the Slides and Outline tabs, select the Slide 5 thumbnail, press and hold the V key, and then click the Slide 8 thumbnail. Release the V key, and with Slides 5 through 8 selected, right-click the Slide 8 thumbnail, and then click Delete Slide. 12. On the Home tab, in the Slides group, click the Layout button to observe all other prebuilt layouts available with this template. Click the slide to exit the Layout gallery without inserting a layout. 13. Add the file name in the footer of the Notes and Handouts pages. 14. Press 5 to view the slide show from the beginning. Click to advance through the presentation, observing the transitions that were prebuilt into the presentation. 15. Save 䊏 your presentation, and submit it as directed by your instructor.
