Application for a Permit for EMU FARMING
Issued pursuant to Section 60(c), National Parks and Wildlife Act, 1972
Please read the following carefully.
Applicants must be familiar with the Code of Management for Emu Farming and adhere to the principles
listed therein.
Permits are issued to a person, not to a company or partnership, as one person is responsible for the
discharge of obligations under the Act and Regulations. The Department recognises that ownership of
emus may extend to joint ventures and therefore encourages the inclusion of Company/Partnership
details on this application.
Any intentionally misleading or false declarations made on this application may result in legal action being
taken against the applicant.
Space has been provided to list any emus that you may have in your possession at the time of applying for
a permit. Please list the quantities held, the date of acquisition and the source of these emus. The
statements made in this application will constitute your official record of stock at the date of the
application.
When applying in person or by an agent on your behalf the applicant or agent must present identification,
which will verify the applicant’s name and address.
The National Parks and Wildlife (Wildlife) Regulations 2016 includes specific conditions relating to Permits to
Keep and Sell Protected Animals.
Anyone possessing wildlife should familiarise themselves with the relevant licensing provisions and
conditions of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972 and National Parks and Wildlife (Wildlife) Regulations
2016, including any subsequent amendments.
WARNING: ON EXPIRATION OF YOUR PERMIT, THE ONUS IS ON YOU TO RENEW. While the Fauna Permit Unit
issues renewal notices, it will not be responsible for the non-receipt of such a notice.
