New South Wales Major Events Amendment (Safety and Crowd Management) Regulation 2015 under the Major Events Act 2009 His Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, has made the following Regulation under the Major Events Act 2009. MIKE BAIRD, MP Premier Explanatory note The objects of this Regulation are: (a) to declare the Blacktown International Sportspark to be a major event venue in respect of the International Cricket Council Cricket World Cup 2015, and (b) to make provision with respect to the application of Part 4 of the Major Events Act 2009 in relation to the International Cricket Council Cricket World Cup 2015 at that venue. This Regulation is made under the Major Events Act 2009, including sections 5 and 72 (the general regulation-making power). Page 2 Published LW 6 February 2015 (2015 No 47) Major Events Amendment (Safety and Crowd Management) Regulation 2015 [NSW] Schedule 1 Amendment of Major Events Regulation 2010 Schedule 1 [1] Amendment of Major Events Regulation 2010 Clause 17 Definitions Insert in alphabetical order in clause 17 (1): Blacktown International Sportspark means the sports park at Rooty Hill bounded by Knox Road, Eastern Road, the M7 Motorway and the Western railway line. [2] Clause 18 Declaration of Cricket World Cup as major event Insert “Blacktown International Sportspark,” after “Sydney Cricket Ground,” in clause 18 (2). [3] Clause 19 Major event venues or facilities Insert after clause 19 (f): (g) Blacktown International Sportspark. [4] Application of provisions of Part 4 of Act Insert after clause 21 (2): (3) Page 3 Despite subclauses (1) and (2), for the purposes of section 5 (4) (c) of the Act the provisions of Division 5 of Part 4 of the Act are the only provisions of Part 4 of the Act that apply in relation to Blacktown International Sportspark and those provisions apply only on 9, 10 and 12 February 2015.
