Coins for Kids with Cancer

Coins for Kids with Cancer
curing childhood cancer, one coin at a time
Concept:
Where do all the coins go? They are thrown in the junk drawers, car consoles, left in old purses, or even lost in the couch!
Alone, a penny may not have a tremendous value, but imagine if all the coins were all pooled together for an important
cause.
What is Coins for Kids with Cancer?
This fundraiser will create a healthy competition among classes, while allowing students to work together for a common
goal. This fundraiser is simple. Each class will have a jar provided by the TeamConnor office to collect money. Your
fundraiser will last as long as you choose, typically one month. At the end of the month, add up the money raised by each
class. The class with the most money wins a celebration party! The winning class also will receive commemorative
TeamConnor pencils for each student to celebrate their success.
What do you need to do to host your own Coins for Kids with Cancer event?
To begin, you must have permission from your child’s school to host a fundraiser. Once you have permission, complete
the form included in your packet. The TeamConnor office will then provide each class with a jar to fill with money.
Download a Coins for Kids with Cancer flyer to provide each participating class along with the jar. Next, ask your PTA
to help in securing a prize for the winning class, such as pizza, ice cream, etc. To assist with this, a solicitation letter
sample in included in your packet. Now is the fun part. Just sit back and let the coins pile up. At the end of the fundraiser,
TeamConnor will gather and count your coins so you can announce the winning class! It’s that simple!
If you have any questions or would like to receive a Coins for Kids with Cancer kit, please call the TeamConnor office at

The TeamConnor Childhood Cancer Foundation
Cancer is the number one disease killer of children and kills more children per year
than cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, asthma and AIDS combined. Yet the
budget of the National Cancer Institute allocates only 3% of its funds to pediatric
cancer research. We are losing too many children to this horrible disease.
Named after eight-year old Connor Cruse who lost his battle with cancer on July
10, 2009; TeamConnor’s vision is to one day find a cure for childhood cancer so
every child can grow up, spread their wings and fly. Until that day comes,
TeamConnor will harness all of our resources to raise awareness, support families
and fund treatments to help find a cure.
By supporting TeamConnor, you have the opportunity to dramatically impact the
lives of those affected by childhood cancer. Join us in our fight! We need you on
the team!
