NHS SENIORS
The last NHS meeting has been rescheduled to 3/28/17(*new date)- 7:15 am in P31.
$20 dues will be collected at that time.(Checks made out to FWHS) Dues go towards membership pins, honor
stoles and scholarships.
See Dr. Gloria in P31 prior to the meeting with any conflicts.
FRESHMAN/SOPHOMORE DANCE
To all freshman interested in attending the Freshman/Sophomore dance on Friday March 31st, please pick up a
permission slip outside of T29 or F3. All tickets will be $15 and they will be sold until Wednesday March 29”.
ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ALL 10TH GRADE STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS:
The Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT) in science will be given to all sophomores during the last
week of March, from the 28th-30th. Each student will be scheduled for one, two-period session to complete the
test during this window. Demonstrated proficiency on this test is a graduation requirement of the Fairfield Board of
Education. Students will be taking the CAPT on a computer in one of our computer labs. Science teachers are
providing students with practice materials that will familiarize them with the format of the test and will remind
students of the content that will be covered on the test. Students should contact their science teacher or school
counselor with any questions.
CLASS OF 2019 T-SHIRTS
The class of 2019 is selling long sleeve t-shirts from now until March 27th. T-shirts are $15.00 each and order
forms were handed out in Homeroom and can be returned to Mrs. Searles in P29 or Mrs. Jurkiewicz in T2.
A CHAPTER OF BEST BUDDIES IS COMING TO WARDE!
Join us for a parent and family information night on March 21st 5:30pm-7:00pm in the Lecture room.
If you are a student who wasn't able to attend one of the original info sessions, please feel free to join us on the 21st.
Best Buddies is the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical, and economic isolation of
those living with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The program builds friendships between people
with and without IDD, offering social mentoring while improving the quality of life and level of inclusion. In
addition to the fun and rewarding experiences included in membership, there will be leadership opportunities within
the chapter and access to a worldwide network of fellow Best Buddies volunteers. (You may also learn more about
Best Buddies through their website, www.bestbuddies.org and www.bestbuddiesct.org).

GOVERNOR SEEKS STUDENTS TO SERVE ON STATE BOARD OF ED
The Connecticut State Board of Education is now accepting applications from Grade 11 students who are
interested in serving as members of the state board of education for the 2017-2018 year. Two students, who will be
appointed by the governor, will serve a one-year term, beginning July 1. Please see Mr. Ebling if you are interested
in apply.
HOMEWORK HELP
The program will run from 2:15pm-3:45pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays in the Library Laptop Lab.
Students can receive extra help or support, or just access a quiet environment for work completion.
CHANGE OF ADDRESS
Parents need to bring a lease or mortgage statement or property deed AND a current utility bill to Central Office at
501 King’s Highway East in order to process their change of address. PLEASE CALL 203-255-8398 TO MAKE
