Ignite Facebook Ad Specs

 Creative Submission Timeline
Budgets, flight dates, and all creative assets (creative, ad copy, targeting, and destinations/URLs) must be received by Ignite Media a minimum of 48 hours prior to launch date, excluding weekends and holidays. If elements are not received 48 hours prior then your campaign may be delayed. Delays may also occur if creative is received and it is determined that revisions need to be made to meet specifications or policies. Recommended Creative Sizes & Limits

The 20% Rule for Images
Images used in ads on Facebook cannot include more than 20% text within the image itself. This applies to all ads, including video thumbnails, and includes1: • logos and slogans. • images with text overlays or watermarks. • images that are clearly edited to include text on a product (as a loophole). This is measured (inexactly) by a 5x5 grid that can be checked using Facebook’s Grid Tool, found at http://www.facebook.com/ads/tools/text_overlay Best Practices for Images

Use static images (.JPG, .JPEG, .PNG) – animations are not permitted. Use clear, high-‐resolution images. Avoid images that include a lot of background detail. Images of people and bright colors tend to get more engagement from users. Include the logo prominently in the image, to build brand awareness. Keep important information within a 75px bleed from the edge of the image. Best Practices for Ad Copy

Include the client’s company name in title or the description. Use proper grammar and punctuation. Include a strong Call to Action, directing users how you want them to interact. Highlight any special offers or promotions. Think like the average Joe – keep ad copy simple and easy to understand. Avoid abbreviations and acronyms when possible. 1
Pictures of products that include text on the actual product (labels, book covers, clothing, etc.) do not count towards the 20% total. Facebook’s Advertising Policies
