We take no gears because we love the direct energy transfer from muscles -> gears -> speed. A fixed-gear bicycle (fixie) is a bicycle that has no freewheel mechanism. The freewheel was developed early in the history of bicycle design but the fixed-gear bicycle remained the standard track racing design. More recently the ‘fixie’ has become a popular alternative among mainly urban cyclists, offering the advantages of simplicity compared with the standard multi-geared bicycle. The Queer Collective is not only an incredibly social and active group which involves people from all realms of gender and sexuality, but provides a valuable support network if you ever need it. The Queer Collective is a great way to meet fellow students and even get help on any concerns you may have as a Queer/LGBTI* student at Murdoch. The Queer Collective also has a Queer/LGTBI* safe space called the Queer Room (AMEN 2.035) where Queer/LGBTI* students can hang between classes. We are involved in getting a community garden going, and would like to make this a plastic water bottle-free campus. To achieve such goals, we need numbers - we need the uni to go ‘whoa, the student population is totally behind this’. We need YOU to join US. Step One: Jump online to www.the-guild.com.au and click on the “Clubs and Events” tab. Step Two: Select “Club Grants” from the left-hand menu, and read through all the information provided. Step Three: Download the “Application Doc”. Step Four: Complete this document as accurately as possible. The more infor- mation you provide on your application form, the greater your chances of approval. You will need to do your homework on costing and quotes as we will only give you the money that you ask for eg: If you write Club banner $150 and when you apply for your reimbursement you write $300, The Guild will only reimburse you up to the initial $150 you applied for. If you choose to purchase stationary instead of the banner, DO NOT assume The Guild will reimburse you. The item you stipulated on your application is the item you are to purchase unless you get prior permission from The Guild. Step Five: Submit your application online by clicking the “Club Grant Application Form”. You will need to attach your completed “Application Doc” from Step Four. Step Six: Sit back and enjoy a cup of tea. Your grant application will be processed shortly by a select committee. The Clubs Officer will be in touch and inform you of your outcome. You can expect to hear from The Guild within two weeks! For example: Step Four: Make sure you have filled in your bank and Club details. Print the form and sign at the bottom. Step Five: Submit the form in person, along with ALL ORIGINAL RECEIPTS to the Clubs and Events Development Officer . You will find her at The Guild. Step Six: Provided that all details are correct, your receipts are accounted for and your expenditure matches what you purposed to purchase, your reimbursement will be processed within a week.
