APRIL: Jordan Zimmermann turned in an impressive season debut yesterday, allowing a run on four hits with one walk and three strikeouts in 6.0 innings. Over his last seven starts in April, Zimmermann has compiled a 7-0 record with a 1.17 ERA (46.0IP/6ER) and 33 strikeouts. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the only other pitchers who have won each of their last seven-or-more April starts are Jake Arrieta (won eight straight) and Rick Porcello (won seven straight). McCANN-DO ATTITUDE: James McCann belted a solo home run in the fi•h inning of yesterday’s game. McCann has now homered in back-to-back games for the second •me in his career. JUSTIN WILSON SHUTS THE DOOR: Jus•n Wilson notched the second save of his major league career yesterday vs. Boston, striking out two in a perfect ninth inning.
