One-Pager Poster Project
Choose and read one of the following graphic novels (ISBN):
Fahrenheit 451 (978-0809051014)
Maus (9780394747231)
The Alchemist (9780062024329)
American Born Chinese (9780312384487)

Then, you will create a poster board including the following:
1. Four (4) passages/quotes: You must identify and quote four (4) passages from the graphic
novel that you feel are important.
2.
A picture/graphic representation: You must have a picture representation of the graphic
novel. You may draw the picture and color it by hand, use a computer generated image,
pictures from a magazine or an image from Google images. This image must represent the
graphic novel and the quotes that you chose. Although you may have a picture of the cover
art on the poster, this will NOT count towards the “picture/graphic representation”
requirement of this assignment.
3.
A personal response: You must write a personal response to the graphic novel. It can be an
evaluation describing what you liked about it or a recommendation as to why others should
read it. Your response should have a minimum of 200 words.
All work must be neatly presented on a poster board of a minimum dimension of 22x 28 inches. During
the first week of school, you will present your poster to your English class.
If you take images from the internet or a book or magazine, you must include a reference page and you
will attach it to the back of the poster.
The attached project rubric should be used as a basis for what is expected from you in this project.
You must print and turn in this rubric with your assignment.
