This Week in Room 117 Week of September 13, 2015 TEXT What a great first week of school. I enjoyed getting to know your child, and I am so excited about the rest of the year. Dibels testing will also be done this week so that we can begin RTI shortly. There will not be regular spelling tests this year. Instead, the district is implementing a Word Study program that will be used. It is our hope that students will become even better spellers by understanding patterns and other aspects of the words that they use in their everyday writing. The students are currently working on a personal narrative about how I ended up with the alligator head that is currently on my shelf. They are working hard to add details to improve their stories. Social Studies Thinking Like a Historian Thinking Like a Geographer Vocabulary Quiz Next Monday We will be focusing on Social Studies from now through December, and then we will switch our focus to Science.
